This track, no memes, helped me through a tough emotional period in my life.
So, I got me a Gretsch G5260. Gretsch, in their infinite wisdom, put T H I C C ass strings on a 29.75" scale guitar from the factory, strings you'd usually use on a 25.5" guitar and put it in A standard.
Then they tuned it up to B standard, so damn tight that it hurt my fingers like hell, let alone playing any bends. I don't know if they meant for this baritone guitar for country and it's supposed to feel like a banjo or something, but accidentally it's also very good for absurdly low tunings, as the band Loathe showed us.
So I was capable to tune it all the way down to G standard with the strings it came with, still feeling tighter than I'm used to. However, for the track/riff here we have to go even lower, so I used the Neural DSP Petrucci plugin that allows for real-time transposing, in this case all the way goddamn down to D standard. An octave down D standard. You know, actual bass frequency D standard.
Also followed Mick Gordon's GDC tip about the Zynaptiq Morph plugin, so I also added the Doom chainsaw sound and mixed it with the guitar, obviously not as well as Mr. Gordon, but for entertainment purposes I think it did the trick.
Conclusions: Epstein didn't kill himself, Gretsch are goddamn psychos and the G5260 is an absolutely gorgeous and very well made instrument, which also sounds great, with an actually affordable price, and Bethesda/id shot themselves in the head by mistreating Mick Gordon.
Speaking of the devil: all rights go to their respective owners, I can only wish I was talented enough to write and record Hellwalker, and I didn't make DooM 2016.
