Over the years, these godlike beings gifted the Argenta with incredible power to grow as a civilisation in return for their worship.

I feel so bad for the wraith. Sure they were a little hands off but they were just trying to do what they thought best. Then when they went to sleep their planet went to go worship another being who used them in an army and then started harvesting the wraith's power for evil. It really just sucked.

@@Skyrionn I think a portion of the DOOM community like to collectively agree that the Doom Guy did try to retire at one point and got a rabbit he named Daisy, but when some demons killed his pet bunny, only then did he truly become the Doom Slayer. Fun way of looking at the lore, also completely relatable! (All of Doom's followers shall suffer. For Daisy)

This honestly gives me hope for the future of this universe. The elemental wraths sow life where ever they go. They are generally good natured. The only flaw is that they tend to not intervene when they could, and that’s not the worse issue to have.

Honestly I don't think it's even a flaw. It's kind of like parents coming to the realization that they have to let their children take some hits if they're ever going to be able to fend for themselves. Solving all their problems for them just makes them weak and dependent.

Thank you! We don't know at this point. I'm assuming it is a similar story to the bible as Doom has so many story points that match it. When their work was complete on Argent D'Nur, they rested. That's only my guess though.

If there is a sequel to DOOM: Eternal, I am 86% believe that it will be the Wraiths that will revive the Doomslayer. With that, they will also grant him abilities akin to what Davoth gave to him before. Why they need him, we don't know. But for a neutral being, that doesn't blink at the rise or fall of the species that worship them, to seek his help, it must be a great threat. I will also believe this give the chance to explore more of their origin, and maybe it is there where the threat starts. Maybe they're just drifting through space. Maybe they're _escaping_ from somewhere or _something_ .

Ok. I think i get it. The Wraiths were driving home from a huge party. Their ship crashes into a planet cause the driver was super drunk. So they pass themselves off as gods to help ease the people of the planet. When it worked, one of the wraiths looks at the driver and goes, i cannot believe that shit worked. And thus they never had to make a report to the Intergalactic Insurance Company

it's gonna be really interesting, as they are currently the only know remaining greater being, other than Doomguy himself. If they decided to continue with the may story of Doom, they should definitely include Wraiths.. And maybe unveil what their own ultimate 'goal' is. Stll it's hard to top the current story without removing Doomslayer accomplishments. But him, not slaying any demons, also doesn't sound all that good... Anyway thanks for the video. I think the wraith are from far in the future, and are a mix of all dna in the universe at the end of the universes life span when everything has eventually merged together creating one ultimate super being. Those beings then realized that they was what creates the universe. The spear, or their space ship is not just a SPACE ship, I believe it is a SPACE AND TIME ship, and that the power source, is literally them in cryo status, and that they had to sacrifice themselves to power te spear to get it to create the universe and it was what created the big bang and that time is a constantly repeating loop, and that eventually, if you get far enough in the future, you can eventually go around and get to the past, or alternate reality. Time is infinite both ways. Infinite means a repeating loop with no end or beginning. This is why Earth, is almost like a new version of Argent D'Nur, and humans are so similar to Argenta, and that we are being feed tech by a maker god who is setting up tech to USE Argent Energy to fuel machines to drain souls.... same thing happening over and over and over again

From the context clues, the Elemental Wraiths appear to be roughly the Earth equivalent to the pagan gods before christianity, something like the gods of the Sumerian or Greek pantheon. When the Makyrs started to persuade the Argenta, it was possibly like how christianity rose across the western world and tried to squeeze out the pagan religions during the Middle Ages.

I always found it suspicious that there were Maykr gold ghosts in the World Spear. There is also a passing resemblance between the Maykr true forms, seen with Samur and the Khan, and the Wraiths. It’s just an idea, but I think the Wraiths might be what happens to Maykrs after they go through transfiguration. Why the Word Spear would have left Urdak, I don’t know, but I think there must be a connection there.

Im more scared of what happened to the homeworld of the Wraith. And if it will eventually follow them their new home If you think about it using Destiny's *"The Traveller"* terms... The doesn't it mean they run from something from their homeworld? The Wraith can terraform the planet they crushed on with their ships and by simply breathing out their life giving breath.. So it begs the question why they would not stay on their home planet and terraform it. Unless theor planet was attacked by Hell or some other Eldritch or simply a different alien race... Something that would prevent them from re-terraforming their planet.l and force them to escape in a colony ship. Their colony ship looks pike it was created from a moon of their planetlike High Charity from Halo. Or ot was made from their home world itself. It looks like a mini-Shield World from Halo created by the Forerunners... So this lends credence to the idea that they had to abandon their home ona seemingly one way trip to ends known or unknown...

I'm convinced that the Mother Demon from Doom 64 was a Wraith.

I have a theory: The Wraith, the Heavenly Father and The Maykrs were the creations of the Demon King. Before the Demon King were imprisoned in his sphere, these beings lived together in an unknown realm, where the society were divided into classes. The Demons were the lowest class(slaves), following by the Wraiths(which were equal to our farmers and blue collar workers), the Maykrs(which were equal to our white collar workers), the Heavenly Father(the CEO), and the Demon Lord(the chairman). After the Demon Lord were imprisoned, his power was transferred to the Heavenly Father, but he f*cked up somehow and society as a whole was disrupted, leading to waves of civil unrests and exoduses. Eventually the Demons migrated to Hell, the Wraiths and some Maykrs migrated to some other planets which included Argent D'nur, and the rest majority of the Maykrs along with the Heavenly Father migrated to Urdak. Over thousands of years, history of the old ways of life was forgotten. The Heavenly Father disappeared(possibly imprisoned by high rank Maykrs like the Khan Maykr and Samuel) along with their sole source of power, disrupted Urdak's society, and forced the Khan Maykr(the new CEO, then became the leader of the Maykrs), to look for another source of power, Argent. This might explain why some high ranking Maykrs were able to gain access to the Spear, as they couldn't be more familiar with the technologies that the Wraiths used, and some Maykrs might be part of the group that migrated to Argent D'nur to aid in the Wraiths business(it's that uncommon if you apply the way humans co-operate in real life)

What they told us we were going to buy to them: "A doom UNIVERSE" (which meant, a coherent, interesting, expensive story and in game universe, almost like they were making a dark souls doom). What we got: Some ridiculous story that looks like it got written and put together by the kids of the devs or something. Everything is supposedly "mysterious and grandiose" and more importantly it goes nowhere, it contradicts itself all over the place and even the main story is crap, there isn't one as far as I'm concerned. But that's not what they said to people before they bought it at the time. Plus they phucked up the music mixing, EVEN IN THE GAME (also, that one music I liked in the trailers was never in the real game, and no one knows what I'm talking about, even though I did find the trailer part where it was)! And I'll never forgive Bethesda, or Zenimax, or whatever it's true demonic name is.

The OG games and the new games take place in the same universe/timeline, it just two different chapters/segas. I believe doom guy new armour and abilities come from when he was on the world the wrath’s terform, thag adeventuew that has yet to be seen outside of written word is the bridge between the OG games and the new games. Doom guy and doom slayer are terms to distinguish the OG trilogy and the new games.

I like that this Doom Lore is somewhat vast yet completely ignorable, as that's how the games have been for the past 30 years. You don't need to know who Davoth is or where hell came from to have a good time. I prefer games with no story, or if it has to be there, in the background, which is something this game does well.
