Yeah but Doom 2016 isn't a reboot, although that is what everyone thought back in 2016. So Doom 1, Doom 2: Hell on Earth and Doom 64 are happening in a chronological canon with you playing as the "Doomguy". Doom 3 is not canon with you being the "Doom Marine" who is very different from the "Doomguy". Then in Doom 2016 you begin the game as the "Doomslayer" who in Doom: Eternal is revealed to be the "Doomguy" just aged about 8 billion years, and turned a god by the divine mashine.

That makes a lot of sense, I am definitely going to play Eternal after I finish the game I’m currently working on. They have the OG Dooms available on the PSN store, so I think I’m adding them to the list as well. Appreciate you watching and giving me the rundown, not sure why I never played them before.

The problem with eternal's platinum is the MP related trophies, those were just annoying. As for the campaign ones, it aint hard

Doom 2016 is not a reboot! it is a chronological continuation of the original 3 Doom games (Doom, Doom II, and Doom 64). Doom The Dark Ages will be filling in many of the blanks between the events of 64 and 2016. Doom 3 was the reboot and didn't go anywhere. So chronologically the games are as follows: Doom, Doom II, Doom 64, Doom The Dark Ages, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, and Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods part 1 and 2.

The Wolfenstein series is great too and the both are linked sort of as by original lore William is Doomguys relative from the world war period, it's the same principle of big guns that you have to learn what gun and upgrades hurts certain enemies but instead of demons you're going against weird WW Nazi troop experiments that are merged with robotic limbs or merging peoples brains with mechs, it's a bit more story driven but you still get to cause kaos, they even feature first adaptations of the Praetor Suit in more recent games with the least favourite young blood having a version that's more closer to Doomguys.

Going to start the Eternal grind shortly. Sucks that we had to essentially play the game a second time just to get the one rune trophy, even though we already had the one for maxing out all runes lol. Good luck with Eternal!!

@@natecrager4667 I was thinking of just going for the platinum at first. Had ideas of making a series going back and 100% DLC on games where it’s needed later down the road. But if it’s not super long I might throw it in there. Just skipped most of Borderlands DLC because it triples the playtime lol

@@DontScreenPeek well the dlcs are pretty short they can just be challenging but not impossible there’s little to no collectibles and the secret encounters are easy, also not many either!! but there is the extra life mode trophies for both dlcs, me personally i’m not going for those lmao but i will see later on in the future after my platinum lmao, but even if you don’t go for all of the dlc trophies the dlcs are really fun and the story is great!!!

Here's a tip: At 9:08 you said you were having trouble with those shield guys well if you have a specific mod for the plasma rifle I can't remember what its called umm...I think its stun bomb? Yeah stub bomb if you hit a shield guy it will... Well stun him and you can put as much damage as you want on him until his shield goes back up.

Sadly that was one of the last weapon mods I unlocked lol. Once I did though it was super helpful

It unfortunate that the Doom(2016) multi-player never realy took off, it is pretty well designed and had some fun concepts(that would later be used in Doom: Eternal) of player controled demons. The reasom it was rejected though by a fairly sizable portion of players comes down to 2 reasons by 2 very diffrent groups, the veteran players of the series were largely turned off by weapon loadouts when they were hoping for map spawn only. So they went back to playing Quake for its multi-player instead of continuing with doom. The implimentation of the weapon loadouts served 2purposes, to be fimilure to new players likely coming over from cod and what have you, and tl make it so said newer player weren't emidietly stomped by the older players(The multi-player of Quake and other older arena shooters the dommanit strategy was setting up a path around the map to monopolies spawns of weapons, health, and armor and completely block out your opponent from gaining any foothold on the map. Quake was realesed in 1996 and some players have never really stopped playing and have gotten very good at this style of play). While most of the new comers saw the multi-player as a clone of halo and didn't pay it much mind.

You definitely need to try Eternal it's a dope game and the visuals are crazy, a lot more fun as there's a lot more platforming and abilities that make it come together like a movement shooter fan boys wet dream, as much as they don't have the same music composer in the new game (dev's loss) the music tracks are good just not as good as the original dudes (Mick Gordon), RIP & TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE!

I had to rebeat the game as well, funny to explain to my friends that I got the "Master All Runes" achievement before "Get all Runes". Also F the multiplayer achievements, especially on a game no one really touches anymore :/

My very first platinum trophy on the PS4 🥲 until I had to make a new account for my PS5...now I have to restart all over AGAIN! But on multi-player mode there are no online players to get the trophies
