The problem with the doomerism, is that it's REALLY addictive. There is a kind of comfort that embraces you but restrains you at the same time. You eventually become complacent, you give up, and it feels good. At this point, a part of you doesn't want to change anymore. There is a deep and warm comfort in giving up. It's harder to achieve your goals when you're not even sure you want to achieve them.

This comment is incredibly accurate. I was in a doomer mindset for quite a bit, I got out of it for a while before the first lockdown. Ever since then I’ve been sort of teetering between the two mindsets. Doomerism is a strange beast, you want to get out of it but at the same time you feel no reason to do so. It’s a constant warm hug of acceptance, you realise there is nowhere to go, so you sit and fester. Idk, maybe I’m chatting a load of shit but that what it can feel like for me. So far I’ve been trying to get on with my life (as much as I can) but it’s just a fucking mess
@TheAskald3 жыл бұрын
What is worsening my doomerism is the current state of the word. If we want to keep the earth as a livable place, the only path is the recession of energies, population and economy, because renewable and nuclear can't fully replace fossil fuels, and energy is the blood of humanity that conditions everything. Why live in a world that peaked and need to heavily retract? It also puts guilt on my shoulders. Should I really take the plane to visit the places of my dreams? Do I really need this new car? Who am I to live and make the world of the future generations objectively worse?

If you die tonight, do you know where you're going? Did you know that Jesus Christ is THE Truth, the life and the only way to Heaven? Revelation 20:15 ''Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.'' Through Jesus Christ, God offers you a FREE gift - forgiveness. All you need to do is repent, turn away from your sins and evil ways, from now on put your faith completely in Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him. Biblical explanation of the Gospel: God doesn’t want anybody in hell, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23) The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). Since we have all sinned, we all deserve hell. Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will go to hell. Yes, even if you have lied once in your life, you are sentenced to hell - that's how high God's standards are of moral perfection because God is holy and righteous, there is not one sin in Him. For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ - for He lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day. None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Our carnal mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's moral law and it never will (Romans 8:7). We hate the thought of God for the same reason a criminal hates a policeman - we know we have sinned against God and are guilty of it and we don't want to be damned. No good works will ever save you. You can't earn salvation by good works, because God will judge us for our sin. Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life and He died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) We aren’t saved by our good works, but only by the grace of God through faith in Christ. ''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven only IF we repent and trust in Him. This is how you can get saved from sin and hell - repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Get to know Him by reading God's Word. So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13) ''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15) ''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19) Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin. While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6) (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) ''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7) If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousnes - to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God. You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son. ''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17) ''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10) You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ. As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so. In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'' ''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19) ''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41) ''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21) ''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4) ''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12) Please get right with God and get to know Jesus Christ personally today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left! "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32) Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you! Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

Then the guy became a doomer, and he often would go to the park to spend his lonely nights with the starry sky, cigarettes and some beer. Casually, without planing it, lots of times he would find that man sitting on a bench and, between cigarettes and beer, they would have long and interesting conversations about life during all night, telling experiences to each other, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying, and sharing thoughts about different things. Somehow they were making their doomer nights more bearable, while hoping things to get better

I used to work as a laborer for a shitty wage, and live in an apartment in a dumpy house with my mattress on the floor, with roommates that never were home, in a neighborhood crummy enough for crime but desolate enough for each night to be hauntingly dark and silent. My lamp was the only thing lighting my room in the corner of this dark apartment and I would listen to this song on repeat, smoking out of the window, wishing I was somewhere else. Now I live with my girlfriend I love in a well lit apartment with new furniture, a bird that chirps gleefully through the day, and a job that pays better. But when I hear this song on one of those nights that I can’t fall asleep at 9pm like my better half, I only wish I was back in that corner bedroom dimly lit, smoking out of my window. I remember when I was listening to this song at 2am when my mom walked into my room to tell me that my grandpa has passed. I knew the time was going to come sooner or later due to his cancer but it actually happened. I threw on some pants and a hoodie and me and my mom took a 5 minute drive to our grandparents house. We arrived and everything was calm. No tears just yet. It was me, mom, and my grandma and the Coroner (my aunt and uncle were coming but they lived further away). I tired to call my brother (who lives on his own) to say one last goodbye to our grandpa before he’s taken but sadly he didn’t answered. My aunt and uncle arrive and it’s time to say our goodbyes. I go in first. My grandpa is laying peacefully on the bed I used to sleep in as a child when I would spend the night at there house. I look at him. Think about the good memories I had of him and the times we spent together. I kiss him on the forehead and leave and head to the living room. Everyone else says their goodbyes and we’re ready to send him off with the Coroner. We have to put my grandpas dog (April) away in my grandmas room so she wouldn’t attack the Coroner since he would be taking my grandpa. April was crying and howling so she knew what happened. I help carry my grandpa down the stairs and into the van. We get one last goodby before they take him. This whole time I was trying to fight back the tears but a few tears dropped and my mom hugged me. Last time I would see him. We head into the house to do the paperwork/death certificate sorta thing and everyone is calm and collective during the situation. Everything is settled and me and my mom start driving home ( it’s about 4am). As soon as we get in the car I started listening to this song and began sobbing and bawling my eyes out. I just sobbed and sobbed while my mom is rubbing my back trying to comfort me as we make our way home. I get home and stay up for the rest of the morning just sobbing and thinking about my grandpa and how I’ll never see him again and how much I’ll miss him. It would take me 6 months to completely get over his death and this would also be the first time I would loose a grandparent. This my grandpa passed back in March of this year and coincidently this video was uploaded on the day of his death. If your still reading this that means a lot. We’re all gonna make it bros.

I understand that maybe this whole meme with doomer is now popular. But kids who listen to this song don't realize how sad and tragic this song is. Depression nowadays is underestimated. Something like a joke is made of it. This disease is not taken seriously. This song is about a man tired of life who wants to end his pain by suicide. He loses hope of being integrated with people. He ends with his hopes and dreams. Morrissey (vocalist of the group) openly talked about the fact that despite so many years he still fights depression. It is sad. People, be aware of what surrounds you and always hope. Fight. Remember. There is a light that never goes out.

M8 depression is just a chemical disorder, we’re all made of chemistry. Sadly when we see a person with different set of chemistry (alpha males, or successful stock dealer) we can’t understand how they achieved it, or how do they feel, as well, as when alpha male sees a soyboy, he can’t understand how pathetic someone as him can be. So, with depression is the same, when normal person talks with depressed person he can’t understand him at all. Physically. (Graduated therapist here)

@@tonylovesducks2501 I think its a different kind of depression. When you are a young man, you have a somewhat irrational depression. When you get older, you have a better understanding of it all so its a much more rational depression because you realize just how screwed up everything really is. It's just a matter of coping and managing it so you don't spiral out of control.

Doomerism feels very comfy if I may say so. People get it confused with the depressed state but doomerism actually belongs to the acceptance state just like honkler. Honkler is optimistic acceptance and doomer is pessimistic acceptance. After a life of feeling like crap and always caring about pointless shit, honklerism and doomerism can be cathartic.

You know the worlds fucked when people are willing and wanting to go and fight and die in wars just because they want something to give their lives purpose. Dying in some old rich demonic cunts war isn't purpose, anon, neither is it an escape. You will come back after you die, life never truly ends. Just endure life, you can do it, we all can. True strength comes directly from suffering.
@stefanluginger36825 жыл бұрын
Rhinoinasuit war is nearest to some sense for a lot of people I guess. There is nothing you feel life better as when you fight for it. And if you loose it in a war it’s even ok. You die as a hero. That’s the mystery of war. On the other hand people are to silly to think that they can fight for themselves and their values even whitout a war.
@Rhinoinasuit5 жыл бұрын
@@stefanluginger3682 i get that and that's what we're being taken advantage of for. I know there's nothing more fulfilling than fighting for what you think is right, but people are being used just as they have been for war since war was a thing. It's just sad, people are being taken advantage of and manipulated in every way shape and form these days. And when we try to do something about it, it's other people like us aswell as ourselves that suffer for it. The evil scum sitting up top in charge of it all don't feel a damn thing from us.

It really hurts when the person you loved the most leave you so easy . You cherished them the most , you loved them with all your heart , did everything to make them happy , gave a shoulder for them to cry upon and had wonderful memories . And then when it comes to your flaws they leave you high and dry , like they never meant anything . And hurt you like hell . Throw you away from their life . Making you think - am I not good enough? Making you getting obsessed with them , even though they couldn’t care less . Eventually making you insecured and depressed.... To anybody dealing with pain (not necessarily caused by a heartbreak) may god bless you . You are strong . You will make it to the end . I love you all ❤️

I have thought of buying a cheap car and running hose from the exhaust pipe and sit down at edgecliffe blvd looking over collaroy and falling asleep or taking a step off the gap drunk. I just want to feel normal again.. And booze lies to me and makes me feel good for a little while and like I am the fun happy person I should be.

I remember taking a handful of benzos and standing up on a chair while putting my head through a noose made from an electrical cable and just waiting for the pills to kick in. The next memory was me waking up from the floor and gasping, with a snapped cord still around my neck. After that, my life sorta went all better. In a good direction. Got a job, a girlfriend, and accepted into school. I was wondering for a long time if it was all a scenario created in my dying head. But now I'm sure it wasn't, because i was fired 3 years ago, my school went to hell because of my relationship. And now about two weeks ago to top it off, she's dumping me. How the fuck can life be so bipolar? I feel damn empty and confused. And lonely. How the hell does a nearly 30 year old guy meet new people?

Aight, listen up. I was an ex doomer, now fighter/go getter. you need to get angry. get so pissed off, that you feel like you can punch through a wall, a ragefull punch that can bend space and land on god's or this server's admin nose. then go on a power walk. walk with pumping music. while still remembering how that rage felt. i promise it feels good. be angry always. imagine your emotions like the game rock,paper,scissors. rage beats depression, depression beats happiness, happiness beats rage. then find a goal. find something that makes you happy. don't chase after people wishing for a family and shit. that will come once you realize what your passion is and you chase after it. partners and people in general are attracted to passionate people. Even if it's collecting stamps or train watching. never give up on your goal. I found mine in phyisics, since i was always a deep thinker. Now i'm trying to understand how reality around us works and what can I do to better it. your light will only go out at the end of the game, so make sure you burn and shine more than any other lightbulb. nothing makes sense at the end of the day. while many paths are already discovered, inventions invented, stories written you have not experienced them. Ignore politics,religion and rules. live your life how YOU want to. good luck, space cowboys.
