@@NexusOng17It’s most likely a tam-tam, which is a giant flat gong that produces a crash sound that’s way louder than a typical crash cymbal. Given the production quality and instrumentation, it can easily be mistaken for a massive door being slammed. @ploop fr. The remake, which wasn't just quite unfaithful to the original(axed the marshaling yard, sewers & redesigned the lab entirely) but also butchered the B scenarios for Claire & Leon, a "masterpiece"? IMO, this soundtrack suits the green corridor with the boarded up windows in the west wing of the RPD (that leads to the briefing room where you get one of the Red Jewels) very well. Think about it... It's quiet... Too quiet... Zombies are capable of bursting in through those boards and the intact window near the ventilation shaft has the two long light bulbs reflected in it... @Constable_Chud Жыл бұрын
To add to your theory... there's a kicker to it. Both RE2 and RE3 run simultaneous to each other. RE3 starts September 28th, and RE2 begins on September 29th (a day later). Jill finally arrives at RPD shortly before Leon/Claire make their way in (as she's making her way through the city itself while Claire and Leon are making their way to the diner and meeting). That sound? Yeah it's *Nemesis Type-T himself* wandering around the RPD out of your sight. He's hunting. Not only is Nemesis Type-T there, but *so is Mr. X.* Think for a moment... Neither _Claire nor Leon_ are members of S.T.A.R.S. Thus, Umbrella would not have programmed him to hunt down regular R.P.D officers or use deadly force unless authorized. He's constantly roaming that building... but not for you. He's hunting for Jill. Mr. X is meant to cover any loose ends with RPD members and to support Chief Irons because of his ties to Umbrella. When Jill wakes up after being infected and later cured by Carlos, that is taking place on October 1st. Leon and Claire board the train and make their way out of the city before these points finish, otherwise they'd be caught in the bomb blast. So yeah... Let the fuel of both Mr. X *and* Nemesis in the building at the same time scare the living sh*t outta ya on your next playthrough. Even more menacing to consider? They even kind of proved it with the demo for RE2 I remembered this clip existed and this was a real easter egg in the demo itself, which alludes to the fact that he's in the area at that same time: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXe1hJ15gK1_jbs

one thing i'd noticed when i played this, when you get to the western wing of the station where its all boarded up, just before you turn left where the vent is and the door that leads to the evidence room and darkroom, take a look at the gap through the boarded up window. you'll see what looks like two lights that look like a pair of eyes, watching you. the amount of detail in this is amazing.

The door slam noise is TERRIFYING. The music picking up straight after makes it even scarier 😭 I never played the original RE2 on PS1 but I know for a fact I would have been scared out of my mind hearing that 😂

1:04 I can imagine any kid being scared of this sound back then. Especially when they played 3.
