"It probably only breaks when it's going fast. When it's going slow it probably works fine." Go back and watch the replay. Watch him driving back to pit road. That rear end was ALL over the place when he was trying to get back, and you could literally see the right rear wheel flopping left and right as he came up onto the banking. When a toe link breaks in these new IRS setups, the wheel attached to it is free to move throughout its entire range of toe adjustment, and will be influenced by whether you're on or off throttle. It's literally the same torque-steer effect you'll see on a FWD car, but on the rear and with absolutely no way for the driver to control it. *In my opinion, as someone with no dog in the fight (neither an Elliott fan NOR a Larson fan),* I don't believe he initiated the spin on purpose. I believe that the toe link was damaged when he hit the wall, broke a few laps later, and caused the spin. AT THE SAME TIME, I don't think Elliott did anything to try and stop it. Once the spin started, I think he let it go, matted the throttle to keep it off the wall, and then held it down out of frustration. Larson fucked up, and Elliott got pissed (IMO rightfully so. He had overcome multiple nearly-day-ending problems through the race, worked his way back up to fight for the lead, and then got taken out by his own teammate throwing a bad block. I know I would be pissed, and I'm sure a lot of you would be too). Larson apologized and took responsibility, Elliott needs to man up and move on. Teams can't afford grudges during normal years, let alone during this parts shortage.

Everything you said is completely true. I think it’s grossly irresponsible for someone in Brett’s position to talk like this. His hatred for Chase is clearly showing. I don’t know if someone at Hendrick did him wrong or what but the guy clearly has a vendetta. But to so blatantly say nothing was broken and that Chase spun on purpose, especially after Chase had already broken that area in the car and spun earlier in the day on a much softer hit, is a pretty low move.

You are not a Chase fan. You of all people should realize that if you are truly a dirt racer ...Kyle had a LOT more time to see that Chase was coming versus what he sees when he races dirt. Kyle could have read a damn book in the time it took for Chase to go high. Kyle is the same coward that he was 2 years ago when he made his moronic comment. @@jeremyfisher8782 I'm not sure what Kyle's asinine comment has to do with a racing incident. Being a fan of a driver doesn't mean that driver is the best or that driver is always in the right. I like both drivers, but I'm a bigger fan of Larson. Larson could have done it totally on purpose, but I highly doubt that. Chase had the faster car at that point of the race. With about 20 laps to go, he could've been a little more strategic and patient.

I don't even know who the guy on the right is, but he has a clear bias against Chase Elliot. I'm not even a fan of Chase myself but you can clearly tell when this guy is starting to reach. Chase hit the wall multiple times that day. He was able to get back up there after those wall taps. He tapped it again when Kyle threw that maneuver. Chase has no reason to believe the car will suddenly spin out. It's the last 5 laps or so and this guy just demands Chase to give up because he tapped a wall? And so what if he drove it to pit lane? You can drive a lot of cars in a straight line and down a small turn even when they're dealing with destroyed suspension. I'd say the guy on the right needs to stop having a vendetta against someone just because they're popular. There's genuinely no reason to be reacting the way he is.

How can you both sit there and try to act like Chase’s car wasn’t broken when it had already been broken earlier in the day from the same type of hit? If you don’t know anything about cars, that’s your problem. But don’t take it out on TJ when he tries to explain it. And as far as Chase spinning out on purpose, it’s the same story. Stop being so ridiculous. He said “I don’t care who’s leading” over radio because he’s pissed and trying to stay out and maintain the best finish possible. He clearly said it because he doesn’t care if it breaks and he spins and causes a caution and it causes Larson to lose. It doesn’t mean he spun on purpose. It just means he’s not going to bother coming in under green and lose multiple laps when he can try to limp it home, and if it breaks, it breaks. I would think 2 people who make a living talking over the radio would stop analyzing every little word to the N’th degree all the time. The guy got put in the wall and he was angry. It’s pretty obvious.

Yep, Chase Elliott fan here. Nope, I don't think he can do no wrong. I've gotten upset with him more than a few times when he's done something really stupid. Even yelled at him when he's went to the lower Series and I thought he was going to wreck some of the regular guys just to try and win a race. But Brett and Freddie are wrong on this one. And I can't believe I'm saying this "again" but TJ is right. And we all know when TJ recites his data facts he's never wrong 😉. It's also getting really old that people say NASCAR looks the other way because Chase is the "golden boy". It didn't work for Dale Jr, Jeff Gordon, Dale Sr and it it doesn't work for Chase either.

I think the anointed one Chase Elliott doesn't like that he has competition for number one driver at Hendrick. He doesn't feel intimidated by Bowman or the 24 but Kyle Larson is the Johnny come lately of Hendrick Motorsports and I think he's standing in Chase Elliott sunshine and Chase Elliott feels entitled to that sunshine. So anytime any little thing like this happens Chase Elliott going to get super emotional and butt hurt. Kind of like if your wife is mad at you about something she knows is stupid so she bites her tongue until the first time you put a fork in the spoon drawer and then you get all the pent-up wrath

1. Larson’s spotter fucked up by not letting Larson know Elliott had a big run. 2. Larson wasn’t throwing a block he was trying to get the best arc into the corner. He only did that because Larson had no idea Elliott was outside. 3. You can recall earlier in the race when Elliott spun out the first time it was after hitting the wall twice and radios something had broken in the right rear and noted his steering wheel was off. When he spun that first time he was running third as the result of the damage. 4. Elliott’s team spent all race diagnosing and fixed the damage in the right rear but not the steering wheel and got him back into contention. After the contact with Larson in the final 20 laps it damaged the same part they had spent all race fixing. And Chase knew exactly what broke because he got the same feeling as when he spun out the first time running third. Elliot did not spin out on purpose but he knew it was gonna cause a spin eventually just like how the same broke part caused him to spin earlier in the race.

Nope I can't agree. I'm not even a Chase Elliot fan but telling drivers to clean themselves up even more than what the Corporations have already done is only going to further make the sport boring. Rivalries, cheating, fighting, and racing is what makes it fun, otherwise all the critics that say nascar is nothing but left turns would be proven correct. The drivers must have their own personalities, character, and freedom to act out as they want. When Kyle Busch retires, Nascar will lose excitement, even when he cleaned his act up some - it lost some excitement. Love them or hate them it doesn't matter whichever driver you choose, as long as you have emotions to them then you are getting true enjoyment of the sport. Without their personalities it might as well be self driven electric cars out there going in circles. Otherwise, what would your topic have been for this video?
