Really sad at the untimely demise of the maestro Zakir Hussain Saheb. RIP🙏🙏🙏. I recall one incident at Nagpur thence my residence town where I had gone with my wife to a function of jugalbandi to be performed by Zakir Saheb with his illustrous father & Guru Ustaad Allarakha Saheb near Shankar Nagar on the Dwali evening of 1993. I had also gone along with my wife to watch it. After the duo had arrived and preparations were afoot to start the function, a crazy crowd poured in there with shouts of 'Waah taaz'!!!! Zakir Saheb was visibly disturbed and anger was reflected in his shouts towards those fellows that his father and Guru's presence have not been cognized by them and those who have come to see that('Waah Taaz'!!!)have satisfied themselves may leave now. He also went out to say that it was Goddess saraswati's meditation and no f'zul business over here. After they have left by and large he started enthralling the audience with breathtaking performace of jugalbandi along with his illustrous father and it was a lifetime's watch for me that I fondly recall.
