DoorDash Acquires Caviar from Square

To be honest, it doesnt bother me, because Caviar is more upscale and are in big cities, like San Francisco, The East Bay, and Sacramento, many years ago, Caviar did get the bulk of the food delivery Market in San Francisco, but didn't expand quickly enough to other markets. I live a city whose residents commute to the bay area, and since we don't have Caviar service here, it doesn't impact us at all, it would be interesting to hear from dashers who are in area that also serve Caviar to tell you what they think of the deal. As it stands many areas have way too many dashers, and don't need more dashers as it stands..

You're right, they have a few major areas but need to expand more. I think DoorDash will help with that. Many dashers are flakey and only work a few hours a week. It's hard to determine when you'll have too little or too many drivers, Soo they error on caution by having more than they need in order to make sure the customers get their food. It sucks for drivers but I understand both sides. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

@@DailyPayBootcamp well sure, i can only do a few hours a week because i'm borrowing someone else's car. But i'm not flakey, i dress up in the best polo shirt, and carry my bag with me, along with other better made bags because there's only so much that i can do, don't take it as an attack, but giving you my point of view. This is my take on the situation, I don't think Caviar will expand, but will be absorbed by Doordash, if you see the video by Xu about partnering with Square and acquiring Caviar from them and why. He wants their profile of upscale dining establishments. Now here's my theory, i believe there will be a two tier system of dashers, those who look professional, and are highly rated will be given dashes from upscale dining establishments. But this will happen after the merger has been finished. I don't see regular dashers under a 4.8 rating collecting food from Tsunami and Barcino of San Francisco, it'll probably go to the best dashers in that zone.
