I watch another gig driver here on YT - Ride Along with Bri. She just did a video about deactivations, but in it the new PIN thing is a way to prevent dashers from getting deactivated due dishonest customers. If I undterstand correctly she's in your new area.

Had my first "pin required" delivery yesterday. Yup, it was for a no-tipper. I hate it when the drop-off instruction shows "hand it to me," then followed by the "leave it at door" because the app wouldn't let me take a photo. I still take one just to cover my ass. You get all kinds of crazies out there, especially on alcohol deliveries. I void those at all costs, regardless of how much $$ is attached.

I only go dashing for lunch and dinner. If I have to wait more than 5 minutes, I'm gone for the day. My sister is a dasher too and she just laughs at me for being so high maintenance. Life is too short to wait for everything.

My zone has most of the 'good' restaurants all on the same road, within a quarter mile of each other. I make deliveries then drive back to my usual spot, right smack dab in the middle of them and wait along with several of my enemies... err, other fellow dashers.

I got a catering order from Panera on the way to work this past week and I needed a signed signature. 1st time I've ever had to have someone sign my phone.

It's not a doordash thing. It's because they ordered it from panera. It's the same as if you get an order that says "hand to recepient"...that means they ordered through the restaurant and not through doordash

Pins i heard for every order is being tested in certain markets besides the randoms...ive had 3 this week and i think its a good thing for i have been accused of a no delivery once...a text could work also if the customer wants a no contact 🤘

I usually drive between deliveries but it's getting back to where I started, and if nothing comes within 10 minutes, I park.

I told you in the last video. The algorithm just plays games. The day before yesterday, I did 12 orders 10 shops. Yesterday I did 12 orders and wasn't even offered a shop.

I don't "drive around". Depending upon where the drop-off is, I'll either linger nearby, or start driving back to "home base", or some other well-located spot. (Besides my "home base" I have a handful of other spots that I might just stop, and wait at.)

~3k deliveries and I've never seen a DD order need a pin, however with UE, it's common (maybe 1 in 10). Also, with UE, if the customer doesn't know their pin, it's always the last 4 digits of their phone number.

To answer your question for between orders, it depends on the apps I am using for the day. For Spark, I will go to Walmart and sit in a curbside spot away from the doors and sit. Most of us do this and hang out until someone gets an order. For food delivery, I'll park near a Hotspot. If I'm sitting too long, I'll drive around for a few minutes until I either find a new spot or I receive an order.

This morning I got a Lowes order. Got to the store and it was a hot water heater. Item was too big for my car. Called support and she didn't seem to understand. She told me to go into the app and drop the order. I complained it would hurt my completion rate and she said mine was high enough not to matter. Good luck to the next dasher that gets this order.

Random pin numbers and random CONTINUE with order so you have to take photo of receipt or just the bag if no receipt and not CONFIRM order so you can click and go. This entire week I have been getting 3 of the continues daily in a 4 hour block while other Dashers I run into have not had any. In the 4 months prior I have only had about 4 total take photo of receipt picks. I used to get the do you feel safe checks on 60 percent of my drops, and in the last 3 weeks I have not seen any.

My Wendy's is under new mgmt. and the wait is usually twice as long as it was before?? Glad I don't get many offers from there anymore! And I think UE is smokin' the cheap ass stuff with that offer..not the good stuff lol! I go back to my spot and sit and wait. Not wasting gas chasing supposed hotspots.Hotspot. Do you think maybe you had some shopping orders priority in Nebraska that carried over with you for the first few days in Washington, but maybe once DD realized you'd permanently switched zones, that priority ended? I used to get 5-10 LOP orders a week, but once I applied for and activated my red card to hopefully get shopping orders, that priority ended for me. I've had maybe 3 LOP orders in the past six months. I'm speculating as to the cause, but I do all miss those $20-$40 orders.

I deactivated my red card because of this. I don't get shopping orders but I did go back to regularly receiving catering orders. If doordash knows you regularly do shop orders they are gonna put you in the que to keep receiving them
