Two of my favorite songs by two of my favorite artists, thank you
I dig this as I’ve said. I admit, i was intrigued to listen to the Carolines part of this (cuz i know nothing of this contemporary artist) and it’s clear she’s got a great voice. Buuuuut, her style and the final product of what she’s made is soo faaaaar from Bjork. Song construction wise. It’s that mass produced song structure vs actual articulation of a feeling. The vocal range and arrangement is so far from each other. No doubt they BOTH prevail in the realm of beautiful female vocal artistry. But yes I’m a critic. Unprofessionally. However, I don’t think I’ll ever comprehend modern day POP. I don’t think I can comprehend POP of my era. Side note: my Spotify immediately threw a Jay Som song (“if you want it”) as the next recommended song after Polachek, and it’s so new to me. Familiar but very fresh. And it’s so damn good!! If I had to guess it’s because it’s created from a band rather than solely from a producer.

'Billions' is Polachek's strongest work so far, imo.

I feel like the juxtaposition implies Bjork's 'Who Is It'
