I have lore reasons for Seek and Figure not being killed by the Crucifix. Seek is a really powerful demon, which is why he struggles for a bit, but breaks out. Figure isn't a demon at all, which is why he just snaps the chains.

Figure not even struggling to break the chains made me think that the crucifix is stricted to banish only demons and evil spirits. Some have a huge amount of power to break the chains, but Figure is untouched because he isn't considered to be a demon or an evil spirit.

Figure is just a deformed librarian who just wants to chill in his library. Then the players come and make noise in his library and disturb his peace. Figure gets mad so he moves to door 100 so he would be left in peace since he thinks no one can reach door 100. Then the player goes there again and disturbs his peace. And even sets the figure on fire causing him to fall off the building!!! The figure is so mad after all the player has done he decides to chase the player. After writing this i feel bad for the figure lol.

Just wanted to say a lot of people seem to use the crucifix for the sake of banishing monsters. That’s not the best use. The best use is as a second life so that say if you got hit by something that usually instant kills or would kill you at your current hp you would be fine. The Crucifix is an symbol that the guiding light can apparently possess hence upon attacking an entity it’s dragged down by chains that match the same colour as the Guiding Light This also applies to Rooms as Guiding Light has no way to follow you there which instead Lost Light takes their place which tbh Lost Light is a douche. I have a theory. Maybe because you are in Rooms and not Doors, the crucifix doesn't work. That might be happening because the guiding light(the spirit that helps you survive) is trapped in the Hotel together with the other monsters. That's why when you get the crucifix out in Rooms, it says that it feels lighter than normal. (MatPat's latest video on Doors helped me out a lot putting the pieces together to figure this out. For those who don't know him, go to game theorists. That's his game theory channel, you should definitely subscribe.)

Imagine accidentally holding a crucifix in a dark room and not hearing screech behind you and then just wasting a crucifix.

Their strength (based on how long it takes for them to die/break out of the Crucifix): Rush: 5 seconds, he rises up (whilst actually struggling to) a lot but not for that long and eventually gets pulled down quickly (it would be cooler if Rush could last longer against the Crucifix in The Greenhouse because he appears to be more strong than he usually does). Screech: 4.5 seconds, showing he is weaker than Rush but tries to fly away (as seen whilst using the Crucifix). Ambush: 4.68 seconds, but he rises up a lot more than Rush and also doesn't struggle whilst rising when Crucifix'd. Eyes: 4 seconds and (weakest so far) hardly rises up, but he does actually try to reject the Crucifix as one of his sounds is called 'Repent' which shows he is trying to ignore the Crucifix to kill the player. Figure: 10 seconds to break out of the Crucifix which is surprising considering how strong he seems and hardly gets fazed by the Crucifix at all and just moving a little (lore-wise, they are important and powerful antagonists). Seek: 13 seconds to break out of the Crucifix, showing he is weaker than Figure because it takes longer and he is also struggling to break free, gets tired, trips a little whilst starting to chase the player and then continues the chase. Dupe: 8 seconds (so far longest to survive before dying), the Crucifix starts to work a little delayed (either it was lag or actual strength) before starting to kill Dupe which shows he tries to escape before the Crucifix catches him (or the Crucifix didn't realise the monster because it was thrown on the floor). Halt: Don't care, but he deserves to die. The reason the Crucifix couldn't kill A-60, A-90 or A-120 was because the Crucifix isn't Jesus related, it is powered by Guiding Light which is non-existent in The Rooms and is instead replaced with Curious Light. Neither does the Candle, it's purpose isn't a light source but to scan for entities, which is also powered by Guiding Light.
