This setting is pretty bomb. It's reduced our cycle times about 25% with just one line of code! Some tool paths are unaffected, meaning that it's the same quality in either setting. What wasn't mentioned in this video is that G00 moves are rounded which is really great when you have lots of little cuts that have little reference plane moves between (like a series of interpolated holes). Awesome setting! Doosan should post the 1 page guide from Fanuc with this video. Hint hint.

Great job Mark, Was waiting long time for this one. Everything explained in simple way. Here is suggestion for next video. How to safely put away oversized tools into the carousel so that they will not colide with tools in adjacent pots. How to force the controler to keep adjacent pots empty. Thanks again, Damian

I see at the end of your program you turned AICC off.... Doesn't it automatically turn off/on inside the M6 tool change macro?? If am correct and it is turned off/on at M6, which R value stays active? The factory loaded R5? or the last commanded R Value??

Pat, great question. For the purpose of programming and the video, I turned it off in my program. You are correct, a tool change does cancel it. The last known R number is what the machine works off of.

@@markchristopher5809 thank you for the info!! Now for my next question: Where, if anywhere, can you see what the current R value is on the control? I have asked a few people this over the years and never been able to get an answer. Yes, I can always command my preferred R value in the program, but out of pure curiosity I’ve never been able to tel which R value is “active” when running AICC We just upgraded our NHP4000 to a NHP5000. Both great machines, but the 5000 is so big I need a step stool to reach into the machining area😂

@@pgreenlaw85 KZbin keeps deleting some of my comments and this was one of them, so trying again. That R value and the G5.1 is all stored in the macro executor which you cannot see. The only way to "verify" which R value you are running at is to command it in your program or a quick down and dirty line of code in MDI. Hope this helps.

Where can I find what aicc is currently set to? And can this code be added to CAM generated programs ?

Luke, that's a great question. AICC comes set from the factory at "R5". As I said in the video the range is from 1-10. When you turn AICC off with the G5.1 Q0, when you go to turn it back on in another program or later in your current program, you have to give it a G5.1 R3 for example. As for your CAM software, different software's allow for this option to be added into your post. It's a menu they can "turn on" so that you can select AICC option levels when you are programming your part. You will need to talk to your CAM distributor if they offer that option.

In my post processor I have the option to turn AICC "off" or on (i can pick levels) or there is the option for "NANO" Can anyone explain what nano does?
@markchristopher5809

Good question! Nano Smoothing is an option from Fanuc that all of our machines come standard with. So, in DN machines when you turn on AICC, NANO Smoothing is automatically turned on. What Nano Smoothing does is take all of those tiny little straight lines in an arc that your cam system generated and turns them into a spline. This allows the look ahead in the control to not try and make every little line appear in your part and gives you that nice finish you are looking for. As for your particular software, I am not sure of why they have the NANO option, but if it were me, I would just use the AICC and know that when I use it, the Nano Smoothing is automatically on. Hope this helps!

Can AICC levels change throughout the program?
@markchristopher5809
@markchristopher5809 9 ай бұрын
Yes. You can program a G5.1 Q1 R(x) anywhere in your program. It is just another G code that he machine digest. However, keep in mind, the command needs to be on it's own separate line and not combined with any other G code. Great question.
