It took me around 3 days to master this. Tip: Try to hold the pen with your thumb, to be more precise use your bone in the middle of your thumb to hold the pen at first (you’ll find it easier to start with this position). What you want to start doing is to try and lay your thumb horizontally flat so that it makes it easier to rotate your pen (maybe not completely horizontal but as much as you feel comfortable with). Now for the rotation of the pen, what you want to do with your middle finger is press the pen and try to thrust it towards you and a little bit down with this motion the pen will eventually spin around your thumb and you will naturally catch it. Another important tip is (Don’t try to catch the pen at first just get used to the amount of thrust needed and your positioning, you’ll find it easier to learn this way and once your get the hang of it you may try to catch it). HOLY CRAAAAAP! I've been practicing while doing my math homework and I just did it! It didn't even take 5000 tries, like the last trick I tried to learn! It felt so good, it took me a second to register the fact I had just done it when it happened. I looked at my hand, and saw the pencil in writing position. @@Kagedaze i suggest buying a weighted pen specifically for doing tricks so it will be harder for it to fly like a frickin boomerang it looks like what he was holding at the start of the video. Im sure you can find one at a fairly good price if you dig deep enough though the most expensive ones ive seen are 22 canadian dollars for a pack of two. Good luck with your pen spinning!!
