The worst lifts... at least the Demon-Lines are. The lifts in this video are Uni-G lifts, made before the Demon-Lines existed. They are better than Demon-Lines by a long shot but they are freaking boring. Uni-G's are still villainous lifts, therefore said, but not as villainous as the pathetic excuses for ropeways known as Demon-Lines are.

How? A gondolas gonna stick out regardless if it’s a 4 seater or a 10 seater
@CTRSeilbahnen2 жыл бұрын
@@johnsmeith3913 in general modern ski lifts are abominable regardless if it's a gondola or chairlift. they are too city-like and urban so they are not alpine at all, they have digital tech cramped into them which does nothing but make them overcomplicated and more expensive to repair than an old ropeway, AND it also distracts people from the traditions of ski resorts, and most importantly, Modern ropeways have absolutely no mechanical differences or character. The old ropeways have far more character as in the 20th century there were much more manufacturers and the designs changed up a lot more back then. But now in the curse of a century known as the 21st century(and I seriously wish I was born in the 1990's) all mechanical ski lift designs and blueprints are stolen from the italian Agamatic grip. Another thing is that modern ropeways have a ridiculously unnecessary and retardingly big capacity that does nothing more than make already reliable lifts look bad when they are far from that(example: old 1980's 6-seater gondolas). And they threaten the existences of other ski resorts that don't have awful satanic modern-10seater gondola lifts. So the other ski resorts are forced to go along with the trend of mass old ropeway destruction, economically and legally(because the authorities are such entitled selfish money and power-hungry c*nts. Modern ropeways are nothing but an excuse for the authorities to destroy and take away anything properly made, properly made ropeways are only what the 20th century ropeways will be, not some excuse for tyranny known as "Doppelmayr Demon-Lines" or "Modern Leitner/Poma ropeways" or "Modern Bartholet ropeways".
@johnsmeith39132 жыл бұрын
@@CTRSeilbahnen I mean I respect what you’re saying and you’re largely right, especially about the lack of character or uniqueness in lifts resulting from only have basically two detachable lift manufacturers in North America. I’m Canadian, but American brands like Yan, CTEC, Riblet, hall, all had far more interesting designs than doppelmayr or poma at the time. Too bad Yan was too innovative for its own good with the marshmallow springs and went out of business. I also agree with you on the high tech screens, seat heaters etc, it takes away the soul of skiing and stepping back and taking in nature and your surroundings with no distractions going up a slow fixed grip chair. And it’s suburbanizing ski resorts with the massive capacities that end up turning the hill into a busy Costco. In some cases though, lines factor in and modern detachables and gondolas are still necessary for connecting mountains, main lap-able runs, going over dangerous terrain, etc. but I appreciate your perspective. You don’t see people writing intelligent respectful well thought out comments every day
@CTRSeilbahnen2 жыл бұрын
@@johnsmeith3913 Indeed not... I consider the Uni-G lifts(in this video) reliable. But I don't like them at the same time due to how boring they are, but at least they haven't got anywhere near as much crap as the Demon-Lines have. With regards to Yan grips I'd say they are the absolute worst grips in terms of safety. However my most hated ropeway system of all is the Doppelmayr D-Line for reasons I already explained along with all other modern ropeway systems from the big 4 manufacturers(DM, Leitner, Poma, Bartholet).
@johnsmeith39132 жыл бұрын
@@CTRSeilbahnen I just don’t think the Yan grips were inherently unsafe, they just rushed the development time to under a year to remain relatively with poma and doppelmayr, but the kinks weren’t sorted out. If Yan had 2 years to develop their detachable system, I genuinely think they would be as large today as poma or dopp
