Doppelmayr/Garaventa - RPD Nexo - English (2019)

In 1999, Doppelmayr introduced a worldwide unique, fail-safe system that monitors the position of the haul rope directly at the sheave assemblies of ropeway installations. To this day, the rope position detection system (RPD) is the unrivaled safety standard for ropeways. It recognizes rope displacement from the sheave groove at an early stage and thus significantly reduces the risk of deropement.
Twenty years later, Doppelmayr/Garaventa has launched a complete redevelopment onto the market: the RPD Nexo system. This is amazing! Although the idea seems very interesting to add to the towers and ropes way system. This could save money from accidents and weather conditions.

This is just an upgraded version of an existing derail RPD that became standard in all lifts decades ago. If you ride lifts you've probably noticed the orange barrel shaped ones on all lifts built after 1990'ish.

Sure. From what I understand they're just like the existing RPD system with more features. We're looking at doing the Drive/Tower upgrade to our 96' Dopplemayr DT detach. It comes with these RPD's

Die Beschreibung stimmt nicht ganz. Yan-Lift verwendete dieses System bereits Anfang der 90er in den USA. Es schwappte einfach nie nach Europa. Lediglich in Spanien war eine Yan Anlage mit RPD bis vor kurzem in Betrieb. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWrWgISqqLd2hJY

Hallo ropewaygrips! Ich hatte heute ein längeres Gespräch mit unserem pensionierten E-Technik-Chef, der konnte mir die Geschichte mit dem Yan-System erklären: Ja, Yan-Lift hat Anfang der 90er als erster Hersteller ein Seillageüberwachungssystem (mittels großen Magneten unter der RoBa, wie in deinem Video) auf den Markt gebracht, dieses war allerdings nicht fehlersicher - und daher nur fürs „Monitoring“ geeignet. Das RPD-System von Doppelmayr war das erste wirklich fehlersichere System in diesem Bereich, da jeder Sensor auch die eigene Funktion überwacht und sich bei einem Sensor-Ausfall aktiv meldet. Ich habe heute jedenfalls wieder was neues gelernt und hoffe, dass meine Antwort für dich zufriedenstellend ist 😉

@@DoppelmayrSeilbahnen Vielen Dank für die Recherche und einen lieben Gruss an den zuständigen E-Technik Chef von damals, das ist echt freundlich. Die Yan Geschichte ist extrem interessant. Zurzeit sind wir dabei, eine Doku über Yan zu schreiben, bzw. Infos zu sammeln, soviel wie möglich. Selber arbeite ich jeden Tag mit einer 2007er 6CLD von euch. Läuft rund 🤗
