Knife me, smite me, throw me into the freakin' sun, whatever. I can't keep waking up every morning with this false hope. There's things, there's people, feelings that I... I wanna experience differently than I did before, or even for the first time. I've made more mistakes than I can count, Ones that haunt me day and night. I've made mistakes but I'll pay for mine. I do my best to make things right, whatever that may be. A wise man once told me family don't end in blood, but it doesn't start there either. "The mark is changing you" Family cares about you, not what you can do for them. Family's there. For the good, bad, all of it. They got your back, even when it hurts, that's family. Sometimes the bad is real bad, and the good, it can come at one hell of a price. I can't go down that road again, man. I'm scared, Sam. I can't be that thing again. "He's in trouble" I gotta know where I stand or else I'm gonna lose my freakin' mind. For better or worse, the Mark, it wants me alive. Its just a curse. The first curse, still it can be removed. That Mark on your arm is the first curse, nothing can kill you. I've tried to fight it, I've tried to beat it on my own, and I can't. How's it feel, Dean, holding the blade again? It feels like a means to an end. The truth is, I'm past saving. I know how my story ends, Its at the edge of a blade or the barrel of a gun. I'm willing to live with this thing forever, as long as I know I and it, will never hurt another living thing.

I cried a lot while watching this. It's sad I feel related to Dean like this. Imagine if "the mark" was, for example, depression. These phrases would still match. Something you can't take off, get away from, that it's killing you, changing you, turning you into someone you don't wanna be. Also knowing that Dean was always the guilt-consuming type. Gosh, I never thought of it like this and you just made me do it. Great, amazing piece of art you have here. I loved it.

I can relate to Dean. I'm the eldest sibling, both of my younger brothers have mental/developmental issues. I'm the one who has to protect them. I'm the older brother what else can I do? I'd do anything for them, be it giving them my chocolate or pushing them out of the way of a car. I'd die satisfied, knowing I'd helped them. I know how Dean feels. We both feel that we were never children, and that our brothers are our responsibility, that they come first. I've never really said this anywhere else, but I need to say it. People look at the things Dean has done, and I get it. He's done horrible things, but everything he has done has been to help. I know, given half a chance, I'd make the same decision.
