Oh it definitely is possible, but very hard to do. The only way I've been able to play this part is by rolling my thumbs across all the Don buttons. That usually gives me enough inputs to at least hit most, if not all the notes, though it's very unreliable and tires you out a lot.

Maybe hand-eye coordination? But that's pretty much what most music and action games do, especially rhythm games such as this one. But nobody really uses games for anything other than to have fun.
