Geoffrey Dorfman performs the Schubert Wanderer Fantasy op. 15 in CM

This live (and only) performance of the Wanderer Fantasy by Geoffrey Dorfman took place at Kaufman Hall in NYC back in November 1989.

Perhaps, but it's a live performance; a musical event. For a 'read-along' video I'd have made a studio recording.

Virtually nothing on the performer in the Internet. A couple of biographical notes or a short brief, maybe? Only Geoffrey Dorfman, a painter, surged while looking him up. Is it the same individual? If it is, why is his activity as a pianist mentioned nowhere? The piano is hopelessly out-of-tune, but his playing betrays grounded command of the instrument. The Wanderer Fantasy is demanding.

A video about the painter shows up on this very channel. So very likely the same individual. And the name of the channel, if you noticed, was dorfman Jones. So Geoffrey is/was probably someone related to the owner of the channel.

The painter and the pianist are, as you might have guessed, the same person. Sorry about the piano. As I remember (45 years ago) it was a pretty beat up Steinway A, (as was the tape recorder) but it was my only stab at the Wanderer in public. And frankly, I don't think it's hopelessly out of tune. I'm busy posting some performances from back then, when I was in good form. - Geoff
