I started working out when Dorian was the man but I watched the London reel as well as other interviews which gave me a whole new level of respect for the man.

great video Geoff, I remember seeing Dorian Yates do a seminar in Newcastle upon Tyne think it was late 80s or early 90s he had just won Mr Olympia but turned up in good shape he did a talk on stage then came back on stage and did his routine on stage and he was awesome the then did signings,he was very approachable and around 2 years later I was working in Birmingham for a week so I found out where his gym was and had a few hours of so went along to do a session unfortunately he was doing a seminar but they said he would be back in a few day they showed me around to my surprise his gym had no fancy equipment it was a good spit and sawdust type of gym I probably had the best session I was feeding of Dorian yates he was in the air he was in the walls he was in the weights I went back a few days later and he was there training I didn't bother him but that stayed with me and inspired me in my training for many years

Awesome talk, Geoff. I joined your mailing list in 1994 when I was 13, your books helped form who I am at my very core. I have lived in the west Midlands for the last 11 years too, so your stories feel even more relatable. Thank you for your commitment to spreading these seeds of wisdom.

I remember reading your book about working on the door, it must've been around 20 years ago and still remember quotes from it, "nice lad" and how after a good run and a good workout your tea tasted sweeter. It's funny how you remember these things.

Heard a quote recently from someone who is about to attempt crossing the Arctic solo and unaided. When asked about his plans and tactics and secret ingrediants that he plans to use to help him succed. He simply said "there is no black art to putting one ski in front of the other".

I can remember him training at the Muscle Machine on Hurst St in Birmingham during the 80's. Also Dave Gauder trained there.

I've run 7 full marathons around the world, and just trained for Dublin for 4 months and didn't get fit enough to to run on the day. And what Geoff says is right, I trained in my comfort zone, and only managed to get to 16 miles a few times. Now aim killing my self on the tread mill at 15k per hour, like he's says, there's no growth in comfort. Inspiring to me at this moment in time

Hi Geoff, i have known about you since the 90's, and really like your humility that you project. Can I ask you your thoughts on why my legs shake when I have to confront people from time to time. It's really embarassing, or is it something that happens generally during possible conflicts? I always hold back from using violence, and seek another solution, but the shaking is really annoying, many thanks.

Met Dorian at temple in 96, 18 inch forearm and had the pleasure of watching him unscrewing a bottle top of a plastic bottle of water and his forearm moved like an independent set of a dozen different anatomical relationships. He done well post fame unlike poor Ronnie even through the weights were similar. His mind was his tool

but i was a ninja after i made them and i use to find these mental things on the road they had these little teeth round the edge so i snapped a few teeth out well i turned them into ninja stars and i would practice for hours with those things i don't know if it bothered the neighbours with the banging as they hit the wooden partition between our neighbouring houses but when i was in bed i could hear them knocking to each other saying goodnight to each other i think he was a loud snorer or she was
