Very informative, thanks! Have you compared Note Performer to some of the better VST libraries such as from BBC Symphonicity Orchestra or for brass and woodwinds, those from Fracture Sounds which feature a superlative new legato for Kontakt?

I have done a little bit of comparing. And where I would admit the more expensive versions can create a far more realistic, final project, for having to do literally no extra set up or tweaking of settings. The performer works so well. Again, I think of it more as a tool for composers, hearing their music better rather than simply The most life like sound on the market. If I was trying to use the midi for actual music production I would certainly think about buying a higher version.

But one of the things I have not tried out in note performer is you can actually load certain high-end virtual instruments into its playback engine meaning it will help you integrate those playback sounds with Dara. If I owned some of them, this would be a huge advantage I would think.

I understand that a Noteperformer playback engine is required for having it drive a 3rd party VST 3 library and that costs extra. BBC SO Pro for example is supported but many others are not. On another note, would you consider making your example Bond theme XML available?

I can put some thought into that. I’m in the process of publishing this arrangement so I don’t want to get too many versions floating out there.
