Was genuinely shocked how much the show reinforced indefinitely what a bastard Jod is. Also, the way he wields a lightsaber suggests he's had some training, but by whom?

Some thoughts on Episode 7: The Security Droid made a point of reminding the Republic Emissary that proper protocol would be followed. The Emissary is not following proper protocols. When I first saw it the Vault, it instantly reminded me of the James Bond film “Goldfinger”. Even the interior seemed like it was straight out of Goldfinger. At-Attin has a major security breach problem, and it is not Jod. It is the battle cruiser full of pirates in orbit outside of the security barrier. I sense another space battle with the pirates is waiting for us. The question remains to be seen exactly who will show up to protect The Great Work.

I think Jod is far more skilled with the Force than we give him credit for. I also think he is closer in age to Anakin than a Youngling when Order 66 was executed, if not older. He seems to have been playing mind tricks since the escape from the prison cells in Episode 2. Thinks keep happening off-screen that defy simple explanation. Why didn’t his captors imply kill him and take the ship on At Achranne? How did he manage to sneak back onto the ship in Ep.7? I think Jod has held a lightsaber before. The way he used the Force to snap-pull it into his hand with the switch rotated under his finger is telling. The fact that he seemed a little out of practice is something I really didn’t notice or pick up on. I am anxious to see what faction shows up to deal with the pirate battle cruiser in orbit. It may not be the New Republic that comes to save The Great Work.

Maybe that comparison with Dutch and Tahiti to Jod someone made is more accurate than we realize. Jod being these kids "Dutch", backstabbing them, betraying them, losing all care about them and ending the show as the bad guy feels fitting now rather than them making up in the end.

Airlocking people was the main form of execution in The Expanse as well (and the only visual one to do it realistically so far, to haunting effect).

I say Jod was a youngling that never got very far. Kyle, rewatch with the sound up and you'll hear the "force sound" starting with like the third or fourth time he uses it to move objects. He's just hidden for decades it unless it suited him (like to win over and impress the kids when he needed them). I think he doesn't get a redemption, at least in this season. He's a pirate acting like a pirate.

The New Republic would know from Kh'ymm would have told them, plus they would have kept tabs on the pirates.

The micro-fuse in the resonator housing must have blown or internally corroded, so KB had Wim sand cast a temporary replacement, not unlike patching a blown glass fuse in your car by wrapping it with a foil chewing gum wrapper. Skeleton Crew appears to take place after Mando Season 3 because Vane joined Silvo's crew after abandoning Shard. Unless this is before Vane joined Shard's crew. Here's my new theory: Rennod intercepted the Onyx Cinder traveling to At Achran. He discovered what it was and hijacked it ranter than plunder it, resumed course to At Achran and discovered that the mint was located on its sister planet At Attin, which was hidden except for the coordinates in the towers of the other planets. He took the ship somewhere to be outfitted with the armor and extra engines, then headed to At Attin, only to crash as a result of the mutiny. The lack of aliens in Andor makes sense since it's Empire-centric.

I predict Wim will wish they had some kind of defense weapons and Neel remembers the big gun on top of the school. He opens the dome and Wim operates the gun given his prior turret experience.

I guess the big gun on the school roof is standard At At planet issue.

30:00 Agree with Kyle. There's still a slim chance for Jod's redemption arc. Obviously the mint completes his pirate life goals, but if it came down to Jod having to choose ONLY ONE, the treasure or life (of these four kids)... for all the threats he's wielded on the children (in particular Fern and all their parents), i speculate he'd choose to spare their lives. Like everyone warned not to trust him. His threats on the children are also, just mere bluffs. As Katarn mentioned earlier, Jod had no choice with Brutus. His second mate threatened his life. Death by air lock for Jod whether or not they find At Attin's treasure. Jod's hands were tied, literally and metaphorically, hence the execution to set an example in showing his pirate crew and the kids he meant business.
@lonelybanshee859316 күн бұрын
Totally. Jod executing Brutus wasn't just Jod being a bad guy; c'mon. Not only does Jod understand the kind of spectacle a pirate crew respects, but he also knows all of these guys by name. On the other hand, after his behavior this week (including bathing his head in the gold, an awesome moment that I have to believe was Jude Law improv), it's hard to see how he isn't just the villain from now on, especially since they got rid of Brutus (who always felt like a placeholder anyway). But there's one wildcard: the fact that they've gone to such lengths to hide the appearance of both the Supervisor and Tak Rennod. If they're one and the same, then Tak *did* end up getting the treasure, just in a different way than a pirate traditionally would (in fiction anyway). So it's possible we get a final episode villain for Jod to vanquish while also putting the kids' safety above his own, doing something selfless, and really becoming the "Jedi" figure they originally saw him as. I will admit, though: unless we're getting a movie-length finale, it's gonna be tough to develop and resolve that story in one episode. I just really want Jod to end as something other than a straight-up villain (and I'm also sick of having a hundred shows with multiple seasons, or that get canceled before the next season; just learn to tell a story).

My bet is Neel's dad is a buff, feminist, sensitive, silent type construction worker always there for his family and it makes me happy. I just found out he's played by the same guy who was Krisantan.
@Ponto-zv9vf12 күн бұрын
They showed the Elephant man with his children being tender and loving. He is probably like a proper dad, tough and aggressive against danger to his family but loving and protective to his family.

Wim’s dad is going to be the hero with the redemption arc, not Jod. He’s going to fight Jod or something like that and be the real hero to his son.

It's taken Star Wars a long time to make the aliens look real and not like humans wearing bad Halloween masks and costumes. Even the puppets like Grogu look real, you can't say that about the New Hope aliens.

In fairness to Obi-wan they filmed that in the middle of the pandemic. Far less fun opportunities. And there’s still something that Jod is overlooking or willing to change, because no one wants to see a kids show where the kids don’t win.
@holgicg16 күн бұрын
I think It's quite the opposite: if the show been made just for kindergarteners, it is true but you should not expect and target any grown audience. However if you are trying to make a show where logic and basic sense exist, kids shouldn't be able to outrun or especially beat the grown ass men. It's just stupid.

Ever since they mentioned the Onix Cinder(?) to be an Old Republic ship....Anyone wonder if this ship is going to end up in The Mandalorian's hands? Would be an awesome successor to the Razor Crest.
