No One it's definitely a valid point, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not cannon. A lot of licensed video games are entirely uncannon and contradict the original material. Nah, the helmet is a reference to back to the future. Rick is well above and beyond suicide, if he really wanted to die, he would get himself killed, in a way that frames jerry, makes sure beth is settled and doesn't have to raise a finger for the rest of her life and morty (or summer) carries on his legacy. besides, in the season 2 episode staring tiny rick, we get a glimpse at "project icarus" which was basically a way to prolong ricks life-span. It may have failed, but this tells us everything. Rick doesn't want to die at all. Maybe not ever.

that's true, but i still think it applies in a way. it's more or less symbolic of rick's personality. if rick doesn't wear a seatbelt in a ship, you can assume he doesn't (normally) wear a seatbelt in a car, either, which would support the theory of him having a death wish, more or less. or, another way to look at it could be that he knows that getting into a crash in the space ship that would be serious enough to crack the windshield would make the seatbelt meaningless, anyway, so he just doesn't bother. morty doesn't think on that level and probably puts the seatbelt on out of habit either way, though.

Here's a fan theory: Jimmy Neutron is actually Rick just in a childish state. His extreme intelligence was only honed and grown throughout time and Rick's only gone through a hell as he grew up: 1. The single joke Rick made to Jerry about how he could make pants better than any pants Jerry could buy...runs along the idea of Jimmy's invention: "Smart pants" that literally clean and fold themselves. 2. X-ray goggles are found in Rick's garage, Jimmy invented X-ray specs. 5. Jimmy's invented multiple...MULTIPLE robots that look like specific people, specifically he's invented two different kinds that look like his own mom. This could be a primordial version of how Rick straight up clones people to do certain tasks. Heck, later, Jimmy even invented his very first cloning machine, which created clones based on aspects of his personality, extracting them from the original, and creating new ones. Sounds somewhat familiar to Rick's idea of ripping his evil/horrible self out of him and trapping it, though Jimmy's was completely unintentional. 6. Much like Rick's multiple body modification or robotic enhancements, Jimmy first invented a swiss army laser that started a trend in unbelievable objects wielding lasers, that rick and morty seems to capture in a few different episodes. 7. Much like Rick's later accomplishments creating a fully automated jurassic world theme park inside a hobo, Jimmy literally turned a fast food joint into a fully automated and intelligent machine. 8. Mark I, Mark II and Mark IV rockets from Jimmy's collection resemble a LOOOOT of Rick's hoverpack/android suit designs that do very similar things...just strap it to your back and fly. 9. Jimmy first failed his test to make an aging machine called the "Metabolic Accelerator" which would age him to a set age, though this backfired. He later on transformed this machine into an iconic means of transportation, "The wormhole generator" (sound familiar?) 10. "Duplicator", one of Jimmy's inventions that clone whatever it touches, is reflected in multiple inventions Rick's used in the past episodes, like a dart gun that transfers a fully functioning clone of you into whatever the dart hits, consuming their body and taking completely over. Darker version but...still, same idea. 11. Jimmy invented a dream injector that injects him into a person's dreams...I don't need to go into this one. 12. My personal theory is that the dynamite-laced helmet isn't actually a suicidal weapon but rather, one of two different inventions Jimmy's made before...one of them was the "Brain Drain 8000" where putting it on made Jimmy dumber, or at least, on par with Carl and Sheen's intelligence, so that he wouldn't feel outclassed as the smart kid anymore. The other was the "Pain Transference helmet". where putting the helmet on temporarily transferred whatever pain you received in that moment to a set person, where Jimmy felt zero pain going to the dentist and Cindy felt all of it...ALL OF IT. Yes the dynamite laced in the helmet does look like it could kill Rick but...these are just two different theories on what the helmet could be.\ These are just a few and I'm not touching on the games or other media Jimmy Neutron's been in, like his TV movies and such. To be honest it's kind of striking and, while I'm not accusing Rick and Morty of ripping Jimmy Neutron off (far from it), I think it would be funny if we found out that this stupid hair-cut of a boy somehow grew up into a cynical and egotistical smartass like Rick.

THEORY: you really missed all the time travel easter eggs.. there were multiple times where age wad brought up in this episode. evil morty himself just has a more elderly wise way about how he acts. he even refers to one of the other mortys as younger than him when he tells him to have faith. Isnt it weird how everytime evil morty is brought up around the story time travel follows along with him is right around the corner. the last time evil morty which appeared in the seasom before, we again saw age brought up hence the video of rick picking up baby morty. and rick says hes only been back with his family for 7 years but morty is 14. so something with morty isnt adding up theres something missing. and at the end of the episode the ricks say theyve seen evil mortys technology before. and after that rick and morty are walking next to each other and rick tells morty a cocky morty is not good for anybody and righy after that mortys age is brought up again saying "ill tell you when your older". going back to how cocky president morty acts older and sees himself as older than other mortys. Age was brought up quite a few times this episode just try to figure whats going on. also in the same episode of ricks memories you see a blonde girl thats hes about to have sex with then her face opens up and a weird eye ball tongue comes out.. you can see that same eyeball tongue in ricks garage in a box called time travel stuff. just proves this rick we know has time traveled and it is possible to do it. also its weird how it hasnt decade yet. also ricks clock is always stuck at 2 oclock in almost every episode. theres a lot more u just have to pay attention

I think you are absolutely right about the headpiece being a suicidal weapon. Reason being in the first episode of season three he replays a memory of losing his wife, Who I could imagine is the reason he travels between multiverses so much in search of the alternate reality in which she still exists. Hes holding on to the last thread of hope in finding her by not ending his life, although his death wish is obvious. Makes sence because the one time he did try to kill himself was after losing someone close that he is trying to fill the void with ( Unity ). Which also brings to light the fact that unity could’ve been the mother the whole time.... duh duh duuuuh!?!?

blazednlovinit you need a tube to contain the pressure behind the pellets, otherwise the explosion of the gunpowder is just going to disperse evenly. That is why bullets have to go into the barrel, it channels all the explosive energy into a concentrated line. Without the barrel they probably wouldn't even puncture your skull, would rip your scalp off. The actual explosions would hurt you more than the bbs

I feel like that helmet is actually a vr helmet of some sort that allows Rick to relive or see memories where he is truly happy...where he is with his family and he is ok...I feel like that besides alcohol is what has kept him going...And when he takes it off he becomes depressed because his family hates him in reality....that's why he keeps the helmet so dear...because of it he sees memories like his daughter as a child and he gets to feel loved...

I have a theory that Beetlejuice is an amalgamation of all the different Ricks that were killed or died by suicide, coalesced together in some sort of interdimensional space, and he latched onto Lydia because of the connections to the people in his life: his wife, who gave him a reason to live; his daughter, who he wanted to succeed more than anything; and Morty, who provides a sort of conscience for him during his adventures. In a sense, that space is pretty similar to the one in a more recent episode in Season 3 - those who have seen the episode know what I'm talking about, - but in this sort of nexus, or null reality, every creature that exists there is created solely from the elements of that reality. Rick's consciousnesses are from outside of that reality, but enough accidents happened with his portal-gun that they were able to coalesce in that reality, form it's elements into a body for itself, and continue to draw the consciousnesses of other Ricks into itself. As such, it knows what it's made of, and has already mastered the natural laws of that reality, much the way Rick has mastered the scientific laws of his own reality. Unlike Rick, who has to alter his own body and still use external tools to utilize the laws of science in creating change in his reality, this coalescence of other Ricks has learned how to use the body they created for themselves to the same effect as Rick's inventions

yeah I have a theory for the S1 potion episode: Rick made monsters out of men to keep Morty from turning into a rapist. By traumatizing. Morty requests a date rape drug and Rick claims its beneath him, but when Morty makes it an ultimatum Rick perhaps realizes he has to sabotage the world to keep his grandson (sentimentality; a reason to live). He would rather destroy the bodies of the people of the world than the potential soul of Morty. After all the show has stated the afterlife just cant be proven. I have this theory because 1) the episode starts with Rick insulting Jerry about impregnating Beth to get her to marry him; something he doesn't have a reason to care about but "notices" and then proceeds to say that leaving love is "rising above" suggesting moral stance 2) Rick was sluggish, seemingly reluctant, or "dead eyed" to make the potion perhaps because he doesn't like to see his Morty turn into a rapist 3) because of the convenience that the flu virus compromised the love potion. Rick is smart enough to conceive the entire scheme in a pace across the garage. (Can he also fake his surprise to Summer?) 4) "Real big thorn straight up into my ass" 5) The name of the high school is "Harry Herpson Herpsons” which is the kind of thing one thinks about when they think about being disgusted by rape. 6) When Morty sees Jessica at the high school we see an exit sign with a lifelessly still hand and also moving hands. I think its to draw attention to the concept that based on the human condition, we inescapably hate being raped 7)When Jessica is introduced to the potion her facial expressions can be perceived to be all the expressions of a girl thinking about being raped: anger, shock, horror/disgust, defeat, subservient sadness. And personally I believe we are such animalistic sexual creatures to sort of extinguish these emotions. Kind of like Jessica after being drugged. 8) When they are about to administer the pray mantis genes a guy in the crowd screams “I don’t believe it” a common thought for victims. 9) Such an intense turn around for the Jerry character. Quite like a man expressing his desire to protect his real love from people that would rather fake it. (people vs rapists) 10) Since a rapist could be anyone, watching pray mantisi read off the news is a great example of that. In general everything they say is rapey. We also see the middle east who mistreat their women. 11) Rick says he’d outdone himself. 12) Devon and Beth seem to play out a possible rape scenario or two. 13) Maybe instead of fixing it Rick intentionally makes it worse because they did turn into people for a second before they were the opposite of people. A metaphor for rape? 14) Not like its shocking that Rick would evade blame but he does lay it fully on the “little creepy creep person.” Bottom line is rape is totally repulsive and awful. I know this because logically we would strive to be perfectly harmonious. Any smart person would say rape is shitty enough for the hate of it to influence ones whole being. Enough to leave a world in ruins but not enough to stop loving your tiny little Morty. Love is the greatest love is the naturalist and you cant be truly unloving and still be a smart person. I bet these creators guys think thought had that thought too. And then made an episode about it. *buurrp*

For as much as Rick has a death wish, he's also desperate to survive. In the Tiny Rick episode he'd begun developing younger clones of himself to place his consciousness into to stay young/alive forever. In the Rickle In Time episode he accepted his death because he had no choice, in a humble and beautiful moment of honest love for his grandson, then as soon as he saw an opportunity to survive he prayed to a God he didn't even believe in for his life. In the recent toxic episode Rick was so shaken by his near death experience in the opening of the episode that he was *literally* shaking. I think the writers of the show enjoy playing with the idea of being between survival instinct and painful awareness of how meaningless everything is. Because of Ricks' equal desire to survive I don't think that helmet is a suicide helmet, but maybe it'll play some roll later. Or it really is an homage to Docs mind reading helmet.
