hey this helped alot, I'm attending in the fall and w covid it'll be weird but some random questions, did the desk chair come w the room and what other things like a printer do u recommend bringing

Yay! I’m glad it did. Yeah the desk chair came with the room, you don’t need a printer because 1) it’s a small room so you wanna have as much space as possible and 2) there are SO many printers on campus. Plus printer ink is so expensive I’d just use the ones on campus.

Hey! I’m a first year in September at Carleton and am in Glengarry but with a traditional single. Do you know how to find out if you’re in a pod or not? I was really nervous to when I found out I got Glengarry because I heard it’s the worst res but you make it look so nice and fun!

Omg I feel. I was super nervous cuz I heard the same thing, but it actually recently got renovated so it has new AC and facilities! It’s not bad at all. I had an amazing time because of the friends I had living around me!

It’s worth it!!!! Worth it if you can afford it, you will meet so many amazing people and you have access to so much food no cooking, plus no traveling in the stinky snow. WiFi is good!

Do people bring their computer towers with monitor in the dorms ? When I read the "what to pack" section, it seems like there is not much you can bring, but in reality, what kind of stuff people are "tolerated" to bring ?

Yay!!!! I 100% recommend glengarry because it is in the best location! If you want a room with a kitchen, then apply for Prescott :)

no only two on each floor do. If you’re a guy, you’ll either have a shared floor bathroom or you will be in a pod with 5 other roommates. In that pod there is a 1 and 1/2 bathroom.

How do you find carleton and what are you studying

I love it! It’s a really great, supportive community with a ton of resources. The only downside is that Ottawa is super cold haha but we have tunnels for that. I study Journalism with a minor in Chinese! :D honestly im super glad I chose Carleton its a ton of fun but it is also a good amount of work. let me know if u have anymore questions! :)))

I’m not sure. My high school gpa I think was a 3.5 out of 4 and I got accepted into the journalism school here at Carleton. I’ve heard that Carleton isn’t too hard to get into, but that’s due to the amount of people that drop out or switch programs first year. But that’s only what I’ve heard!! You can look up what requirements you need to have for each specific program on the Carleton website. I think if you meet those requirements you are super likely to get in.

Your guaranteed a traditional double, the rest of the rooms are a lottery. You may not get a single even if your willing to pay more. It’s a gamble.

Nikki Ng you could still get a single, but if not you fill out a survey as to what your looking for in a roommate and they match u up. And if you have another friend going you can request to room with them! So it’s really not that bad.

I'm assigned to a traditional double room..... And it has shared bathrooms (cuz I'm a guy). I read the WiFi is bad in this building... I'm just nervous. Any words from you that could make me feel better and not feel like my money is spent on a not so good residence experience. I'm an international student for ug btw. Ps. I love your room. The WiFi is great tbh I thought it was perfect. Don’t be nervous! Everyone is, so you’ll all be nervous together and have a great time. Did U get assigned to glengarry? When I heard I got glengarry I was so sad cuz apparently it’s the TRASHIEST dorm but honestly it’s the best. It just got renovated so there are hardwood floors and AC. Honestly you’ll love it, Residence is where I made the majority of my friends. I’m an international student too! YOULL LOVE IT TRUST ME!
