that you're sane and had three in that room (six for a bathroom) is NUTS - so glad I never complained about my dorm room or "cell" (I went to seminary) but at least it was mine all mine when I closed the door: bed, desk & dresser in the closet - unfortunately no cooking and no bathroom - but it was mine - glad to see you're still smiling - enjoy college 😊

it's a money making tactic for colleges. colleges in my state require you to stay in the dorms for freshman year and you have to buy their food plan. it cost well over 1000 dollars for a food plan. it's terrible

You should do a what to expect video for a graphic design major and cover what to expect in school, your career after school, what a day of work may look like, ect. I'm thinking about being a graphic design major but I'm not exactly just what the job holds after college.

+ZoeMikkinzee In school you would learn layouts, grids, typography, and how to use all the Adobe programs pretty much! After college you can either freelance or join a company or ad agency. Freelancing is cool because you're pretty much you're own boss but it can be hard to find work sometimes. I do in-house freelance at Taco Bell headquarters which has been great! I also know people who work at ad agencies which is basically a place full of designers ready to take on work from various clients the ad agency picks up. So you could be working on a ton of different types of projects for different companies. Hope that helped because I didn't exactly what to expect after college either!

I had no idea students were actually still sharing bedrooms in the US these days! I can't imagine that. We used to only share the bathroom and kitchen etc.

i believe at most schools i've looked at you can have a single dorm, but they are much more expensive!

What a cute room xD I'm going to college next year (as in next school year) and I can't wait to decorate the whole place I have the same printer as you! Have you figured out how to put in the cartridges/ink yet? It's quite easy. Just open that big front piece by pulling it (when it's turned on!) and the ink spaces will slide to your right. It should have a little drawing with instructions right on that spot~

NICE CAGE IS LIFE. Sorry, it's a thing I have with my best friends from home and my sorority sisters, haha (I cut out photos of Nic Cage's face and hid them around my apartment this year, I'm still wondering how many are just hidden there for the next occupants xD). This brings back so many dorm memories. Just this year, I finally got out of the dorms and into an apartment and I don't think I can ever go back. You just kinda do it as an underclassman because you don't have anywhere else but then you get out and look back with wonder at how you survived with such small space and no easily accessible kitchen (we had a shared one in both dorms I lived in but they were on the bottom floor on the opposite side and I was on the second and third floor so it just wasn't worth the effort usually). I could never sleep on a lofted bed either, I just mentally couldn't, so I usually just made do with misc closet and desk storage. I still don't need that much storage, actually, I've really learned how to pare down having to move in and out of new places literally every year. I'm a minimalist by both choice and necessity, haha.

I got to dorm for my freshman year at UCI. In terms of dorms, UCI's freshmen dorms are much spacer and have bigger bathrooms imo. You should definitely sign up to get a tour around both of the schools to see which one is best for you. No hate to Chapman University or anything! I just wanted to give you some helpful advice 😊

I'm from England and here we have halls instead of dorms which is basically a flat with your own bedroom, ensuite bathroom and shared living room and kitchen area. Most people here find that living situation too stressful and share private houses or flats or get there own. I was wondering how you concentrate on studying sharing a bedroom with three other people? and also do you miss home comforts for example having a kitchen/non shared bathroom ect? I'd never seen a dorm room until I watched this video and its the complete opposite to studying in England! this was really interesting, love your channel

Hey, so I just got accepted to Chapman a few days ago and I've been binge-watching dorm tours :) Not sure if you'll see this, but if you do, I have a few freshman-ey questions. 1) Is it practical and/or socially acceptable to bring a scooter? I'm going to be taking most of my classes at Dodge and I'm worried about scurrying back and forth between there and the main campus. 2) Where is the best food place on/near campus (priorities, haha) 3) What is your fav part about the school? 4) Who's your fav teacher? +Harmonizer Cabello I went to school for graphic design and well over half the people who signed up for it dropped out because they realized it's a lot more than just learning how to start their own custom t-shirt companies haha majoring in graphic design involves a lot of projects and late nights but it's fun if you're into it and well worth the schooling! You'll take classes on typography, how to use all the programs you need, learn grids, layouts, all that kind of stuff. I have designer friends who have done graphic design for The Drybar, Behr paint, fun ad agencies, and I personally work at Taco Bell headquarters! The only con to graphic design is dealing with changes made by the client. It can be a lot of back and forth but well worth it if design is something you're passionate about! That was really long oops sorry haha

I am a prospective student looking into Chapman and I recently toured there about a month ago. I absolutely loved it except for one thing-- the dorms. I thought the outside and entrance area were a bit "sketchy" for lack of a better word. Would you say the same thing when the area behind the gate looking fixtures is lit up and populated and people are living in the dorms?
