Aight, so long ago, chidamura created magicians because he was bored, the magicians killed humans to practice, all the bodies being piled up, so thousands of years later, these bodies decayed and formed hole, an abyss of resentment. In the near past, a doctor named(I forgot, but his alias is katsukabe) met a guy named Ai Coleman, a 15 yr guy who wanted to be a sorcerer, he helped katsukabe with his work and they became aquainted, but a few months later, when the sorcerers were being thrown into Hole(the abyss, not to be confused with hole) a muddy, dirty concoctions(btw dorohedoro means muddy or something in Japanese). Ai jumped in and saved a near dead body, while being near dead himself, he asked katsukabe to do a surgery on him to make him a magic user, as he was already near dead, the surgery went OK, but when ai was in the abyss, the souls of the humans that were killed possessed a part of him, some time later he was killed by sorcererz saying that he was a fake, but the ghost of the hole kept him alive for a decade, and he re-emerged as a grown up, he went to the magic user's realm, and changed his name to aikawa, and started a new life, and met a guy named risu, who had a special type of magic, called Curse, which only triggered at his death. But little did aikawa know that the spirits of Hole had taken over his mind, making an alter ego of himself called Kai, and had cross-eyed markings. Kai crated a special compound called Black powder that could enhance magic, he created a gang who called themselves the cross eyes. So he was both a Good guy and the bad guy, Kai experimented on people, taking out their devils tumor(the thing which makes them magic) and collected them. When he found out about risu through Aikawa's eyes, he wanted his magic, so he made risu a cross eye and gave him a Special mission, where risu was killed, and his magic activated, now on the run, Aikawa/Kai tried escaping to Hole, but was still pursued by risu's Curse, he was altimately decapitated but just as he was about to die, he used up all the Black powder he had and used a powder that turned his decapitated head into a lizard, now risu's Curse was inside aikawa, trapped. This all happened in the alleyway Kaiman remembers, as it was where he died/reborn. Using multiple types of magic at the same time also made this new body immune to magic, so it had no effect. Everytime kaiman chimps a head of a magician, the CURSE inside, says' YOU ARE NOT THE ONE' referring to the fact that they are not his killers. That's the basic concept. Kai survived as he had 8 lives, from the surgery by katsukabe, and regenerated BUT THATS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG
