WOW!!!! The beauty of this almost brought me to tears. You can feel the emotion put into every movement. I'm brand new to the Dorothy Ashby fan club and now I can't get enough of listening to her.

Sometimes you hear something so well done and beautiful you have to stop whatever you are doing... and just listen. Thank you for posting this. I will try to find more of Dorothy's work.

Dorothy Ashby was greatly underrated and under-appreciated in the U.S., as many jazz artists are...

my first thought was no way, this piece was meant and could only be a guitar piece. by the end of the track though this wonderful musician had me thinking that this piece was meant to be played on the harp. beautiful.

Dorothy Ashby died April 13, 1986. On April 13, 2020, jazz harpist, Brandee A. Younger, perfectly performed this magnificent piece in Ashby’s honor. It’s on FB Silkroad.

"Love will make you show your heart some day, and then the rough burr will fall off. ... Perhaps, all this life that I've known so far was in fact no more but a dream ..." Like the mythical sirens of Greece her music pulls you in and you are transfixed.

The harp played like a Spanish guitar. Like a Spanish guitar master like Andrés Segovia would play the guitar.

Let's remember Joaquín Rodrigo lost the sight but never forgot the Muslim, Arab taste of the architecture of his hometown, Aranjuez. So, before any of our romantic, passionate feelings about his beautiful concert, the composer's inspiration is the nostalgia for the land where he spent his childhood...He was simply thinking of other kind of sensuality...

rodrigo was born in sagunto, no related with muslim culture, the same for aranjuez. he described his concerto as the sound of the wind in the gardens of aranjuez palace (built in the XIX century)
