Meet Heidi Speed, one of our special constables from Weymouth.
Our Special Constables work on the front line with regular police officers.
They tackle a range of policing issues such as attending incidents, taking part in specialist operations or routine patrols.
In 2017, our special constables volunteered for 28,638 hours of service, which is a total of 1,193 days or 3,182 working days. That’s an average of 27 days per officer!
They arrested more than 120 people and conducted more than 320 roadside breath tests.
