In hindsight, yes. But in reality, no. In Morty's eyes, he found true love. Nothing else mattered. He wanted it to be pure true unadulterated love. Did you notice how he didn't make a save point before talking to his new date? If he made a save point at any time, it wouldn't of been pure. Every time they would of had a fight, he could just go back not learning anything or evolving, hence the whole point of Morty's speech at the end. Life is not worth living for if you're always looking back, not forward. That's why he always thought about it, but never did it. Even when he found it at the plane crash he didn't want to use it, instead called for help because he wanted to try to do everything to preserve his pure life.

I keep saying to my friends if ever there was a consistent character trait either Rick it is that he is petty. I know for a lot of shows they have character charts for keeping certain things consistent (because they change out writers all the time). I just refuse to believe petty isn't on there for Rick. Jerry didn't just grab a random device and point it at the TV. He actually dropped the remote. You can see it happen. The plane crash is based on a movie called Alive which is based on the true story of a South American soccer team that crashed into the Andes mountains and was way off track of where they were supposed to be. This was almost a perfect synopsis of that movie. I recommend watching it cause it hits real hard on humans and their capacity to survive in un survivable realities.

It wasn't a 'soccer' team it was the National Rugby team of Uruguay that crashed in the Andes and ate their co-passengers. One guy struck out and made an arduous journey, but if he went the other way would have found a ski lodge within a day. The Movie about this is called Alive.

I really like the part when Morty has given a choice if he would rather continue to risk his life and call for help or rather he would restart the whole situation immediately all over again. He choose to continue instead because he don't want to immediately lose her, he wanted to continue loving a person that also did loved him back without the help of Rick or Rick's gadget. Instead of just restarting their whole relationship from the very beginning and facing a person who he did fell in love with but didn't even know who he is.

In the grand scope of things, I wouldn't put it on the level of Cronenberg world. That's proof enough that Rick can't do everything, but that he'll destroy a world for the sake of his own pride, and then leave when the going gets tough. This "Save Point" plot is the absolute worst thing that he's done to Morty personally, at least that we know of, because it was purely vindictive. It's not the worst thing that he's ever done, however. That being said, I'm only counting this against the main Rick and his collaborator. It's been shown that there are plenty of Ricks who have messed up relationships with Morties in general, and the main Rick is generally closer to his Morty than the average Rick is to the average Morty.

Morty demanded this _specific_ thing. A gadget that saves your place like a video game so you can go back when you make a bad move. Rick, _in no uncertain terms_ sold him on the idea that that's exactly what he made and handed it over to him. Except we know now that Rick lied and made a gadget that does _something else._ He baldfaced lied to Morty. Then blamed Morty for proceeding on the assumption that his grandpa wasn't a petty lying backstabber. I see this as no different from handing a child a loaded gun but telling the child it's a toy. Go shoot whoever you want, kid, it's completely safe. Oh, by the way, is there anything you want to ask me about it? No? Bang, someone's dead. Hey, my hands are clean. You could have asked me if I was a liar. But you didn't. So that's on you. A great way to traumatize a dumb kid. And make that kid never trust you again.

Jerry hitting the button hit hard the first time I saw it, but it hit so much harder when his girlfriend came back because the probabilities merged, which meant she remembered their relationship again. And she showed up just long enough to see him jump into the vat.

She was his girlfirend and experienced everything even though Jerry "possibly" reset everything at one point. Everything technically happened as that's why everyone was still upset with Morty at the end.

Goes to show you that any person will go lengths to survive. I was pretty sad at this episode. Every time you saw that "save at this point!" line go out, you knew where he'd go back to then at the end, it just kept getting worse with that cool girlfriend as he accidentally saved at worse and worse times. if in an interview they said that they were inspired in the tragedy of the Andes by a plane that collided with a snow mountain where almost all the passengers died and those who survived were there for more than 70 days until 2 survivors managed to find someone and they were rescued even survived an avalanche of snow when they slept some more died but not all and was classified as people wanting to survive although people remember it because of the curiosity that they did not have over time they ran out of food and had to eat your dead companions

Morty wasn't even using that remote right. Even if it really *was* a save point remote, you're supposed to save after every success and before every risk so you don't have to redo everything all over again. 1. Should have saved after the first date. 2. Should have saved after making up after that big fight. 3. Should have saved *before* getting on a plane. 4. Should have saved after being rescued and reuniting with his girlfriend. 5. Should have saved after recovering from his injuries. If you're going to savescum, then at least do it right!

I hate Jerry. Jerry is like an SCP thats sole purpose is to screw things up on a supernatural level. If Rick created a nearly impossible trap/maze with Jerry inside that was almost impossible to escape with something Jerry could screw up at the end. He would be out in seconds once the camera shifted off of him.

A lot of people talking about this is the worst thing Rick has ever done to Morty. More accurately, Morty did this to Morty. Rick set it up and let it happen, which is messed up in it's own right, but Morty made his own decisions on this one. Like Rick said, Morty could have either listened to how it works, or "go have fun". And to see the things Morty does when he thinks consequences are removed is pretty messed up. Rick isn't innocent here, but Morty could've easily prevented any of it from happening.

Rick has done a lot of shitty things to Morty. Kept him from getting a proper education. Took Snuffles away from him. Allowed him to walk off a cliff. Forever separated him from his home planet and family. Attacked him in his bed with a knife. Stole who really knows how many memories from him. Destroyed his heroes. If the opening title is to be believed, Rick left him to be eaten by monsters on some planet. But the shittiest thing you can do to someone who loves you is to betray their trust.
