this was a great game. i think its a good idea to consider it a progenitor in my view. there were 3d shooters on amiga I think a bit later on that had the same limitations on viewing angle - but i cant remember what they were called. if you can remember id be greatful.

The only games with this aspect I remember on the 16 bit machines were grid based like dungeon master, eye of the Beholder, bards tale etc... of course those are from much later since those machines came out three years later... Are you thinking of Gloom perhaps, a doomlike?

@@DosGamerMan haha, I just watched your video. It always helps to read The readme file with some of these shareware games. There is indeed a map, and the ability to skip to the next level is a nice tactical addition... But yes, it's effectively the first Pac-Man clone for the PC, 3d to boot. Not so impressive. 40 years later, but not a lot is after such a long time :) it was pretty impressive in the day, especially since it was free...

You have to remember that in 1983 people were still paying north of $30 for The flat top down only version of Pac-Man on the Atari 2600. So a 3D version with additional strategy for free on a machine that was never intended for games was pretty mind-blowing. These really early dos games have to be considered in context really.

@@nickthebluemonkey1149 absolutely. Good 3d for the time, and if it was all 80s kid me had, I would have liked it then. Maybe still would have preferred alley cat though.
