You found your pig, but no owl can pick up a baby pig. The great gray owl only weighs 2-4 lbs. They at most could only pick up half their weight. Also pigs are escape artists, they can get out of anything.

What a rollercoaster of emotions…I watched Rae’s video and was so broken-hearted! Then I tooled over to Chad’s channel and BAM!! 3PIGS!!!! I’m so relieved for you guys!!! When you take on the responsibilities of raising an animal it’s gutting to have this happen…it happens, sure, but that fact doesn’t make it easier when you feel you’ve failed them. Yay!!!! So glad you found her!! Hawks will pick up toy sized dogs. And they drop them. On purose. Hawks are lazy and don't want a fight from anything bigger than a mouse. Hope this makes sense without being too graphic. Also hawks will group together to hunt. Your issue may be a couple nests of hawks. Raccoons also travel in numbers and could be getting your chickens too. Watch letting your dogs out after dark because raccoons will take dogs out.

Even the puppies were happy!!!! I totally get it. I just adopted a Belgian Malinois from a shelter back in March of this year, I hadn't had her a week when my front door blew open and she escaped, she had been gone around 15 to 20 minutes, my heart sank when I found out, I grabbed her recall whistle got in the car and started blowing, I saw Maxi rounding the corner looking for me, I started crying tears, I was so relieved. An escaped pet can happen to anyone in spite of all the best precautions. I'm so happy the little pig is home safe and Rae can finally breathe a sigh of relief. All's well that ends well, and it sure puts things in perspective and sharpens your hindsight. I'm overly cautious now.

What a rollercoaster ride! Poor Rae was so devastated and suddenly extremely shocked with extreme happiness and relief! The way Rae’s holding on to them she may not let them go for a while. Thank you God for bringing the little pig back home! I remember when your dad's pigs ran off & I think he felt as bad as Rae. They did come back & I believe your dad fixed the fence so they couldn't get out again. I hope you kept both little piggies & they stay put. I think kune kune's are squealers.
