Its really gives me strong Migraine whenever a Mr Know It All tries to potray Northeast as a single entity. The region is so diverse culturally, linguistically, traditionally and ofcourse historically that it would take more than 5 generations of Anthropologists of a single family to even scratch the surface let alone a Govt. Officer who serves an administrative region not more than 2-3 years that also when you are at the district level. After when they reach secretariat level ( which is always very soon) these officers dont even know whats going on the ground level. So giving this type of presentation about the whole of northeast region is same as Hollywood's representation of India as "Thank You, Come Again".

If you're exposed to other world then I strongly feel NE is subject to frisking and hassling by Armies on their whimsical moods... Yes that's a rift it has created, but still political contractors thinks that's THE way out. NE is a ringworm which refuses to leave and migraine for politicians left behind by the British India.

I think this IAS officer has been humble, loving, honest and very committed who made a commendable difference in his service to the NE states where he served. There are good people around in the mainland India but it cannot be denied the fact that India is a casteist and communal country. Centre government is unable to remove discrimination because some leaders are communal minded. Hindu higher castes should stop discriminating the Sudras and or the SCs or the Dalits besides people of the NE India. However, thank you for presenting this video on reality about NE region. Wish you all the success.

Problem in Assam - 1)land rights to non indigenous communities leading to shortage of resources, job opportunities etc (2) influx of bangladeshis (3) large number of tea-tribe population brought to Assam as slaves by the British to work in tea gardens and the rise of their population. All these points leading to majority vote bank of non indigenous people, which again is leading to loss of political identity and opportunities in every possible aspect. Assam is the land of refugees. Nobody cares, in politics people always find their benefits in any existing problems. Nobody actually solves it.
