So pretty! That second layer of white pearl takes it to another level. To me, it almost makes the white look like some kind of marble - that's the only way I can explain it. Another gorgeous design! 🥰

Absolument magnifique ! Brigitte.

You can also get pearlesant medium as well as irridecent medium to mix into you ordinary colour paints. Very handy for stretching your paint budget. I purchased Sargents pearlesant and Liquitex irridecent medium. Use a gel medium to thicken a paint especially when paint threatens too dribble or roll down on your rock. While using a thinning medium to make a paint thinner. There is slso a medium to make paints suitable to use on fabrics. Happy dotting.

Since I discovered your channel the other day, I've enjoyed watching your clips. In fact, I've been inspired to try this out for myself and create my own stones. Speaking as an artist, I was wondering about your technique, in particular, your state of mind when you create. Australian aboriginal people create artwork of intricate design. Quite often, they are images that consist of multiple lines and dots. The finished creations are quite striking to look at. The reason why I mention this has to do with a documentary about aboriginal art I watched a few years ago. One of the artists explained how the creative process involved getting into the right frame of mind and how he needs to be in an almost trancelike state. To achieve this state of mind, some rituals are performed beforehand. When he explained further, I understood precisely what he meant. He said that if your mind is concentrating on making the patterns, inevitably you will make a mistake. This is why the state of mind is vital to creating flawless art. The trancelike state prevents overthinking, and mistakes. This made perfect sense to me. When I sketch, I find my best work is done when I'm in a certain frame of mind that doesn't overthink. It's the same with my writing. When a writer describes having a flow, quite often you are typing the words on instinct alone. It never ceases to amaze me when my flow subsides and I read my own words. Remarkably, it's as if someone else wrote my words. So, I wonder. Do you find yourself in a similar state of mind? Do you find you make more mistakes when you are overthinking, and less if you experience the frame of mind I described? I'd be most interested in hearing your thoughts.

Hello Duncan, thank you so much for this amazing comment. I find I make more mistakes when I am making the videos! Because I am focused on making the video look good, thinking how I can show the better viewer's angle... etc what I do is create the exact same mandala stone before the video one... this helps me prepare for the video and also allows me to be creative and be in the right state of mind. I will look for that documentary, can you share a link or reference? My state of mind and environment is very important for painting, I go for long walks before painting for example, that helps me feel well with myself. So we could call that a ritual. About creativity things just flow, I never plan anything. I guess less planing... I make fewer mistakes! It's hard to explain. Thank you so much!

Beautiful as usual. Do you use water or anything like pouring medium to thin your paints?

Thank you! I use thinner medium: amzn.to/3AANQqg

Very beautiful. I haven’t tried using the same round tip tool to make the bigger and bigger dots. I end up using flat round tool and it’s different appearance. I will try this next time. Do you use both hands to paint 😊

What kind of pencil is that green one in the beginning of the video? I used some pencils but they scratched my black layer.
