Really great video! It really helped me understand dot convention. Pauses on certain parts of a sentence are done in a kinda weird way, but aside that the explanation really nailed it! Really wish books went straight to the point like this vid

Quick question on dot convention please? What if on the first coil, the current is pointing towards the right direction and the voltage is - up + down AND on the second coil, the current is also facing the right direction and the voltage is + up - down AND both coils are dotted at the top. What is V1 and V2 here

You are doing something which is disturbing to the viewers... writing an expression and removing it immediately! areeh vai we the beginners need some time to take inside our brain so why dont you keep the expression in the frame for couple of more seconds? may be you can use the frame space more efficienly. like writting more in one frame.

I have a little doubt here. According to faraday and Lenz law, the self induced EMF is "minus L(di/dt)".Why use neglect the Minus sign of the lenz law? if u see this, plz response.
@shlimjim23
@shlimjim23 Жыл бұрын
A long time later but I also agree. I think it’s the wrong way around here. Maybe I’m wrong, but in the example when the flux from both coils is in the same direction, increasing current I1 would increase the total flux through coil 2, thus coil 2 would produce an emf to undo this change, i.e. a negative emf, thereby generating a downward flux. The opposite happens for the second example.

Sir , I've completed engineering in electronics and I'm preparing for gate 2018. I'm scared . Lack of knowledge and very less time. How can I clear the gate. I want to do M.tech from IIT. It is my biggest wish.
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Anuj. I hope you are already preparing for the GATE and not starting it just now. See, syllabus for the GATE is quite lengthy. There are so many things. But working smartly it can be tackled. Just focus on your strengths, the subjects you are very confident about and the subjects which are relatively easy. Well, here I am not going to say which subjects are easy because it depends on person to person. And try to solve the previous year's GATE papers. If you need any other help then feel free to ask.

@noweare1

I always took the dots to mean that the phase of the voltage is the same at the dots since current direction is not normally shown on a schematic.
@noweare1
@noweare1 6 жыл бұрын
Your math backs that up. When ever I 1 enters the dot and I2 exits the dot the Mutual Inductance has a negative sign in front.

at 0730 you say same polarity appears across dot but that is source excitation and not the induced one can you clarify?
