GOD I hated that Na'Vi lost that game, call me a fanboy all you want but Na'Vi outplayed Alliance so hard. In my opinion, Alliance's ratdoto is was cheaper than than the pudge/chen c-c-combo. Seriously though, xboct winning a 1v3 lane and dendi playing out of his mind overshadowed by some rats. Amazing game though.

I dunno, NaVi threw that game and Alliance took maximum advantage of their mistakes. Also insane plays by s4 on that Puck, (not only the tp cancels). Also, ratting may be cheap, but the masterful ways it was done in this game I doubt we will ever see again

Ah, yeah for some reason the Rosh fight slipped my mind while typing lol but that was a huge game changer. As for S4s tp cancels, that one he got on Dendi at the end was so lucky, not outplay. I mean he didn't know Dendi was there he was just trying to coil Puppey and happened to get Dendi, who had the biggest misfortune of tping to the same building as someone else or else he would have already tped out seconds earlier. But that's just one of the parts of Dota (making bigger plays than you intend to sometimes.) You're right though Na'Vi did make mistakes but they still had the lead. It just got to that point that no matter how they pushed, they were gonna get ratted. Which unfortunately is also part of Dota. I guess I was just in disbelief that my favorite team was playing at such a high skill level and got beat by such a low skill level aspect of the game.

I remember this match. Tongfu was winning the whole way, so Navi had to resort to fountain hook. If they miss hook then they back off, no loss there. But if they gets the hook, they could turn fights around, especially if core hero is hooked. Even Dendi commented on the match, saying that it was cheap but they had to do whatever it takes to win. That's why i like Dendi, he is so dead honest.

I think my comment was polite enough to not be called bashing. I don't "bash" Alliance because firing a hook is easy for a professional player (especially for Dendi) and that hook means sure death. Ratting on the other hand requires the whole team to be able to sacrifice one player from the defense (if they can afford it) and do their best to hold 4v5 in hopes that the enemy team will have to respond to the fifth player's pressure and not just steamroll through the other four members and directly to victory. In other words, there is a way to counterattack vs a rat tactic but how many hooks can you dodge in a row from the most well known pudge in the world? I know it tastes bad to to lose vs a rat tactic, but seriously, you (and propably me and everyone else) could carry a TP scroll and prevent it at any time. The hook comes from nowhere and oh wow you are in the enemy fountain, good luck escaping! Also, already from DotA 1 there has been the anti BD mechanic which allows building to regenarate unless there are creeps nearby. This was made so the team under rating has more time to react to it and for me it works just fine. Have a nice day!

I agree but it is definately not something to be exploited when so much money is on the line. It's not like both teams can pick pudge and chen and just fountain hook each other to death. Also, as a person who has designed champions for LoL and heroes for DotA, I suggest you take into account the your fun/ enemy frustration analogy. While you might laugh more the 2nd or 3rd time you hit it, it cannot be compared to the frustration your enemy will feel when this happens for the 5th or 6th time. Therefore, it is toxic and removed. :P

Dendi and Bulldog, the players that people associate with the star players of their team. When each team is winning their TI both of them are going nutts BEFORE they have won the finals. Tells you something about the people they are, they have a strong instant feeling of happiness when things go right, they are winners! You might think anyone would be happy when winning something big and loads of money, but really it takes time for people to internalize and maybe you dont even have a happy feeling in you that is strong enough for such an event.

thats a combo of pudge and chen, chen can send allies units to base...it have some delay so when chen send pudge back to base he still have some seconds to hook someone and it will send him with pudge to base...doesnt work anymore
