This is awesome. I sincerely look forward to playing this playing this remake of one of my childhood favorites. The Master System wasn't all that popular where I grew up, and whenever my friends would try to say how much better Nintendo was, I would tell them about Wonder Boy III.

This video is fantastic! I can just FEEL how excited and nervous they must have been while presenting the game to the original creator. They must be pretty happy and confident, because I'm 100% sure and so must be him, that this remake is pretty faithful to the original feel to it. They suceeded on that. They probably are gonna suceed in their second goal, which is introduce the game to new, young people. They've done it with me! I will buy it Day 1, on Switch if I manage to get it before. If not, then I'll have to sadly wait for PC!

I loved this video. I can't wait for more. It would have been nice if you reached out to Shinichi Sakamoto who composed the music. Anytime I comment, you'll hear me say this, make sure you figure out how to release a physical version of this game for collectors and future generations.

+DotEmu Oh mon Dieu tout puissant vous avez exhaussé un de mes plus beau rêve de gosse!!! Wonder Boy III est mon tout premier RPG auquel j'ai posé mes petites main j'avais 7ans et c'est pour moi un des plus beau jeu de toute l'histoire du jeux video!! Arigato gozaimasu !!!! J'ai hâte de pouvoir refouler les terres de ce jeu accompagné de ces 5 belles créatures qui ont bercé mon enfance. Vous allez sortir le jeux sur quelles plateformes? Les graphismes et les musiques sont sublime!! Allez-vous présenter ce projet à la PAris GAmes Week cette année? Encore 100000000 merci à vous et toutes l'équipe!!

Salut Wylliam, merci pour ton commentaire :) c'est aussi notre jeu favori.. Le jeu sera pour Consoles+PC. Nous n'avons pas encore décidé exactement les dates et quelles consoles mais nous l'annoncerons dès que nous en savons davantage!

Un énorme merci pour votre réponse! :D tant que ça sort sur PC c'est super ! et pour le reste, prenez bien votre temps pour bien terminer totu comme il faut, je suis telleemnt patient et a la fois impatient! Je dois avouer et admettre que quand j'ai vu le trailer, j'ai eu les larmes au yeux car j'ai eu une émotion si profonde et intense plein de nostalgie, mais aussi pleine de joie. Vous avez vraiment fait du beau travail je suis fier de compter parmi les futur joueurs du remake de Wonder Boy 3 Dragon's Trap Arrigato gozaïmasu à vous et toute l'équipe!!

Enfin, at last, vous ré-éditez complètement un jeu et ne vous contentez plus de vendre des oldies avec dosbox intégré (ça c'était le petit pic). Grand fan de wonderboy, j'espère que cet épisode sortira sur pc, ne demandera un os 64 bits avec 8g mais à première vue ça semble bien parti. Déjà vous rencontrez l'auteur plutôt que de faire votre double dragon de votre côté puis vous proposez un graphisme dans la continuité du jeu original, ça c'est bien, ça c'est prendre le développement par le bon bout. Déçu, je le reconnais, je vos précédentes productions "dosbox", si vous foirez pas votre coup, j'entends, si le level design est cohérent de bout en bout, pas de bugs et pas besoin d'une config de ouf pour le faire tourner, je me jetterais dessus comme la misère sur le monde, promis ;)

Hi Lizardcube I can't wait for this to be released, however can I ask, has there been any thought in adding the original music to the game as an option for the user to select? In addition, I love the new orchestral remixes, but because the originals were obviously in 8 bit format, they had a bit of a 'punch/kick' to them which seems to be missing in the remixes. Would be great to see music options if there was enough time - because to be honest, the rest of the game looks fantastic so far.

Bonjour, avez eu des soucis avec les copyright sur les spritesheet du jeu original ? il me semble que le pixel art d'un jeu est protégé pendant 70 ans ? me trompe-je ? Ou avez vous demandé l'autorisation au propriétaire et il a simplement accepté sans contrepartie ? (j'ai passé des heures et des heures sur le jeu original ;) en fait, je vous pose la question parce que je suis entrain de réactualiser ikari warriors version arcade, et j'aurais vraiment aimé avoir quelques tuyaux sur la question du copyright

Salut Nycoshour, la propriété intellectuelle du code et des sprites était à Westone qui les ont revendus à LAT (le trademark sur le nom par contre est à Sega). Si tu veux faire un remake tu dois t'addresser aux ayant droits et te mettre d'accord avec eux (généralement contractuellement, contre une somme ou un partage des royalties etc.). Si ton projet est avancé tu peux éventuellement t'addresser à DotEmu qui pourront peut être t'aider à négocier une licence Japonaise.

Hello Misteur! We don't have any specific plan just yet. We are first focusing on PC+Consoles we were know we can provide great controls. We might investigate mobiles/tablets after but only if we can manage the same quality of controls..

I know there is always a demand for having these type of platformers on phones, but it would honestly (for me) be fantastic if it stayed with pure gaming perfection (as I see the original) and therefore only with consoles (and PC) with traditional controls. Focusing all your effort into the primary game (and controls) would be great. It's only my personal opinion, but I feel that touchscreen phone apps can often dilute the gaming market if those games are best used with physical controls.
