He's my favorite from the DOTM Voyager line. I bought mine at a flea-market for 60% off the retail price. I got him together with Sea Spray and Strafe and they all look good. The guy even gave me an extra Sea Spray for free (no box and only 1 missing missile). But Skyhammer is the best of the bunch, awesome in both vehicle and robot modes!

Wow, this is probably one of the best helicopter transformers I've ever seen. I wish they'd utilized this kind of engineering for Blackout, rather than giving him an enormous tail. This here is going on my (unfortunately short) DOTM shopping list. Thanks for a great review as always, Peaugh!

@jazz123863 You might know this already but Evac is a rescue Helicopter, so he can't be repainted on an assault Helicopter, if you find and civilian or rescue heli's, thats most likely a candidate for Evac recolor...

i really love the design on that guy, i've already thought of a use for the front-mounted propeller if you leave it fully extended. it can serve as a spinning blade shield, sort of like one of the uses for beast wars dinobot's spinning blade weapon

This figure is pretty neat. I like both his helicopter mode and his robot modes as well. I a gree with you and most others about his head looking similiar to Ultramagnus's head. The only complain that i have is, I wish the piece that sticks out from both knees folded up to the thigh. Other than that, I like the colors & The transformation. I like his weopon as well.

@willboy334 I had this problem too when I first got it. What you need to do is pull on the propeller so that it extends slightly. Once you do that, then you can turn the rectangular piece.

Awesome review, this is definately one of the best figs in the DOTM line. Perhaps even the best helicopter fig we have gotten....until we get a leader Blackout that is. Altmode reminds me of a Russian Hind helicopter, an infantry killer.

Reminds me of the GoBot Wrong Way who also had the rotor chest thing going on, that might be a possible repaint. This guy looks great, I'm not really into the movie aesthetic but the overall look of this guy is rather impressive, the helicopter mode also makes me think of the Hind D from Metal Gear Solid so it might be based on that Helicopter model, well the real world model that is.

Swivels and Hinges are really solid. Just look at Mindwipe. Looking forward to this figure, The style reminds me of the rouge autobots from the IDW drift miniseries.

This figure is very cool! I didn't know about him until a few minutes ago (I 'stumbled' upon him @ Amazon.com). It's great to see another flying Autobot, not too many of those. His vehicle & robot mode are sweet! I just think his weapon is ridiculously huge! Although it's not nearly as bad as Cybertron Metroplex's...

I love this toy so much, though the alt mode dosnt really hold itself together very well. Alot of pegs and joints on mine are pretty loose. But overall this is probably the best helicopter ive bought in a while.

The vehicle mode does resemble a modified Soviet Mil Mi-24, or Hind-D. I don't know what it is about this movies robot designs, but they have vastly improved since the first film, IMHO.

finally! a bayformer helicopter that i actually like! (apart from blackout that is) i can easily see a g1 blades redeco of this guy (if not by hasbro then from some custom modder) hes already got the white head with blue face and giant gun. i think it would work great dont mind the mech tech weapon on this one either im impressed actually kinda envious too

You what, its funny you should mention Ultra Magnus because according to this guy's bio he one of Optimus Prime's military advisors and lieutenants. I think this character may actually a stand-in combination character for both Ultra Magnus and maybe Springer.

@peaugh I received my own Skyhammer yesterday, after seeing your review, I had to have him. But I noticed a little something regarding the tail piece. In your review, you bend it backwards, leaving it between his legs, but actually, it's supposed to bend to the inside of the leg, before you close it. When the leg is closed, the tail piece is completely out of view.

He looks kinda different from other Bayverse transformers, the overall design seems to be a lot less complex/alienesque, more "earthly"... I think he might actually be a mecha for the humans to use. That would make sense if NEST wanted to fight decepticons on more equal terms. Call it the Diaclone project or something.
