im so glad i watched this one, i had such a pain in the ass with my voyager DOTM ironhide's cheast and then after watching how you did it, i see how it stays in place and have to say looks much better now lol still i love this figure as well, and you for got to mention, he has a very beautiful head sculpt and i love the detail with the eyes and how the bad perfectly matches in with his legs in robot mode, i give this one a 8 out of 10 in my book

Just picked this up tonight. This is the best Ironhide, until possibly the Leader comes out. I LOVED the original Voyager, and it's always been my favorite movie figure. This one is better. Much better proportions, less blocky, really just looks more accurate. So happy to have it!

Hey, peaugh!!! I finally found out how you're supposed to transform his chest. It's really hard, but you can do it. There's also an other way of putting the chest together, but it's not the "official" way :P

i just picked him up a few hours ago along with barricade and he is great. his only flaws are that the way the chest is secured couldve been designed better because whenever you try to push the wheels in it comes undone, and they shouldve added another gun (non mechtech) all in all, an awesome figure

Man, I've waited several months for my stores to get this DOTM Voyager Ironhide in stock. I was lucky I found him yesterday at my local K-Mart store but it was the only one they had on the shelf. But still no sight of DOTM Voyager Megatron anywhere in my stores.

Great review Peaugh! You're right, each Ironhide has its strengths and flaws. But IMO this one's the best of the lot overall, in terms of looks. And the fact taht previous Ironhide weapons fit on his arms is a very good bonus! Thanks for sharing Peaugh! Looking forward to more reviews man! =)

I finally decided to buy him. He will be replacing my deluxe Ironhide on display since the deluxe size was so short compared to the other deluxe figures. This one is smaller than the original Ironhide voyager but bigger than the deluxe size so its a perfect fit. I can't wait for the Leader Class size that figure looks amazing and is worth the wait.

i got mine with front wheels didnt standing stright to the ground.. seller said its legit but i think i bought the ko version.. i cant find the different even from the box 😫

It was probably a fault in the making of the figure. Usually you can tell if it's a KO from the box. Besides, the wheels are one problem usually ko's have several - i.e loose joints.

I'm a fan of over-sized weaponry, so the mechtech gun doesn't bother me. Overall I really like the look of his figure, he seems very solid and his chest doesn't flop around like the ROTF versions. His shoulders are slightly funky, for sure, but it's still very nice.

Hey peaugh, what rubbing alcohol did you use to remove the silver paint jungle stripes from jungle attack ironhide? I tried using regular stuff you’d buy at a shoppers and it made the paint blotchy and messed with the plastic? I’d really like to make my ironhide all black lol

I put off watching this review till I open my red version and I did. Seems like you got a more positive impression of him then I did but then again before transformation the foot on mine broke off which really did make me feel it's a piece of crap. Glad you enjoyed him though.

I know what I will do. This was bought on sight anyway (I'm a bit of an Ironhide fan.) ROTF Ironhide's got a chaingun and that little... thing. So... DOTM Ironhide, Mechtech gun on r. arm, chaingun from ROTF Ironhide on l. arm. From what I've seen, they're roughly the same size so what do you guys think of this idea?

@UnofficialMovies1 Actually, while the two are kinda linked, the mech tech weapons are just the new weapons the bots get in DOTM. (Prime has an axe, and a big one-handed gatling gun, and those fancy knuckles) etc... Though, you CAN try to replicate the look of Stealth Force is you kinda half transform it and add a few weapons (y'know what i mean lol)

@quetzalmex Yes, I am aware of that, I've been doing all of that, trust me, I got it all right, It's just that... I don't know, the tab on the inside is about a half centimeter away from hood section. It's probably how I overlapped the hood panels, I'll keep trying.

A lot of people give a whole ton of crap about those alt mode pegs. I actually like them, since you can add other MechTechs to them which adds to Ironhide's character as a weapons master. Anyway, I'm going to have to get this. Looks great.
