Exactly. One of the reasons I love your tutorials is that you don't shy away from mixing it up with supposedly "advanced" features like the Graph Editor. In fact, you taught me that these features needed to become second nature, not feared and avoided. IMO, giving yourself permission to do things "the hard way" is half the battle in motion graphics. The idea that there are always easy answers can quickly become a self-limiting belief, one that a lot of other tutorials perpetuate.

This is very exciting and at the same time very complicated tutorial for me to forget even if I practice it more than once (so many steps). I really enjoyed how you explained it though. any suggestions to a newbie in after effects?
@ECAbrams7 жыл бұрын
I suggest focussing on the basics and understanding the fundamentals. The purpose of the tutorial isn't really the steps, it's the technique those steps make as a whole.
@MaralSheikhzadeh7 жыл бұрын
Thank you ECAbrams! I will try to learn the fundamentals first. Could you recommend a book or a resource for that please?

I have an illustrator graphic made up of all strokes. When imported into AE and converted to shape layers, all the strokes turn into filled shapes matching the thickness of the AI graphic's strokes. I want them to stay as strokes so I can utilize Trim paths. What am I missing here?
@ECAbrams5 жыл бұрын
What kinds of strokes are we talking about here? I've heard about this happening with variable width strokes or brush strokes because those aren't considered the same as strokes in Ae. Is that perhaps what's going on?
