Dotted 8th Delays: How To Get Them Right Every Time With Your Tap Tempo

Here is a quick tutorial on how to set up dotted 8th delays (or dotted eigth delays, to get all spellings!) quickly with a tap tempo.
It works whether you have a dotted 8th setting in your delay pedal or not. I'm going to show you both foolproof methods!
It can be done in the middle of a song or beginning of a song in just 1 or 2 seconds with a few taps and your dotted 8th delays will be perfectly synchronized with the tempo of your song.

Mate, this is the best instructional video on KZbin that nails the dotted 8th so simply. I got it on the DD8 in a couple of tries. However I only just realised the space echo on my RV 500 actually has a dotted 8th setting. I have now saved it in a preset. Thanks so much for the great video.

Any chance you could tell me what subdivision you are using on Song for Zula. Every time I try to get the palm mute base line going with delay the delay is off with the loop.

Love it! Great explanation Antoine. However, what would you recommend with the EHX Canyon when it has to be tapped out with an even number?

The Canyon actually has a dotted 8th subdivision (orange LED by pressing the ''Tap Divide'' button when internal tap tempo is enabled), so you just need to tap regular quarter notes of your tempo in that mode. By far the easiest way!

Hmm. The Bo Diddley trick didn't work on my DD-5 when I tried it. Dunno why. Good thing it has a dotted 8ths setting

Hey Antoine, you may not realize it, but you need to be careful! While you were playing and demonstrating, there was a black-gloved hand that was messing with your equipment! It looked really suspicious! Why would someone wear a black glove unless they were trying to not be identified?! I don't know what else they might have been up to, they could have tampered with any number of other things. Just thought you should know.
