A great example of using dotted 8th delays to simulate fast playing and "banjo-like" rolls is Albert Lee's recording of Country Boy Antoine. I believe he used an old Echoplex delay on the original recording, but I've seen him use a Korg rackmount delay at various guitar clinics for the same effect. Most of the "modern" delays do the same thing.

I have not heard chorus very often on acoustic! I really like my Strymon Ola, and have enjoyed the Neunaber Inspire and the Walrus Audio Julia. They're my favorite that I've tried so far, but I haven't tried them all, obivously!
