Slow motion camera is great addition! If you want to get even better shots with it try using really wide aspect ratio. Something like 1240x300 for example. Usually when shooting things happen on relatively narrow part of the screen so saving all the pixels where nothing is really happening just limits your recording speed.

My Dad used to hunt geese back in the 70's with a 10 gauge. The big advantage was the extra range you got with it. It would be interesting to see a test done between a 10 and 12 at different ranges.

It's the patterning of big shot. I still shoot geese with a 10(like 2 hrs ago), and it patterns BBB and T phenomenal. The big shot carries energy further, the 10 gauge places more on target at longer range
@grumpyshumpy3 жыл бұрын
Yup, you can hear 12ga 3in shells bounce off of geese if they're too high. But that 10ga 3 1/2in BBB will fold them up nicely.

The buckshot was spreading really quickly. Depending a bit on shot cup design, buffering, etc., higher velocities tend to do that. It's probably worse with unplated lead shot, though. 12 gauge Federal Tactical Flite Control 00B would have a longer useful range for buckshot because it's plated, uses a shot cup that doesn't separate for around 15 yards downrange, and is a bit lower velocity, which tends to give tighter groups in and of itself.

@adamzaidi17483 жыл бұрын
@@darrengarcia4937 Yeah I know, it's hard to beat 1000 grain projectiles with Nitro powder behind it. Still the 50-140 produces a lot of muzzle energy for a black powder load. They also have smokeless factory loads producing over 4,400 joules of energy which is quite impressive for such a low pressure round. It's just more for the love for big bores. They are a dying and forgotten breed of gun and besides a video is always more fun with a big bore. Besides there is a guy on KZbin who shoots, I believe it's a 50-110. He reloads his own ammunition and is producing very impressive results. Very close in comparison to these Nitro guns. You just have to have an action strong enough to withstand the pressures especially with modern smokeless powder. Winchester of course comes to mind as that is the strongest action in any levergun I believe. Either way it's fun.

The 8 and 10 gauge shotguns and boat mounted duck guns were phased out because of the incredible versatility of the 12 gauge; it’s still the go to for military and law enforcement scatter guns. 10 gauge is my favorite shotgun cartridge. I got a Browning BPS Pump action 10 gauge. Throws shells with authority and the pump sounds angry when you rack it. Its too bad there isn’t a whole lot of semi auto 10 gauges around...one can hope to get one, one day.
@Kesssuli3 жыл бұрын
Only real downside is how expensive those shells are and much more rare to actually find from shops. Recoil management is personal and we dont count that. I use 3.5 inch shells with 2.3 oz of lead in my remington 870 for hunt.

I really enjoy the fact that Kentucky Ballistics is Pro-2A. I really enjoy that he is also into cars and trucks. I also enjoy every single video he makes... But can we PLEASE just all appreciate the fact that in every SINGLE ONE of his videos, he finds some obnoxious way to absolutely fucking DESTROY a folding table XD I love you man! Glad you seem to have made a full recovery!

I can't tell you how many times I get caught off guard with watermelon time. You sigh, look off into the distance, and then start saying something deep. Then you yell "Watermelon Time!" and said fruit explodes shortly after...lol. Love you man! Can't wait for the next one!

I absolutely love a 10 gauge! I have a Browning pump 10 gauge. My husband got me into shotguns a few years ago and I always take my 10 gauge with! I shot a pinata with it last year for my 36th birthday! Haha! All my husband's friends like seeing the recoil when I shoot it! I'm a woman standing at 5' 3" and my 10 gauge goes up to my shoulder when holding on the ground. I love your channel! I love recoil! I have been shooting since I was 5! My dad taught me. I love 44 mags my favorite caliber and I have been shooting them since I was 7! Thank you for the videos! Hope to find me a 10 gauge double barrel in the future!

I did the same thing unloading both barrels at the same time when I was 14yo. It was one of my first jobs doing construction job site clean up and mowing the grass. Boss man came up asking me if I could shoot because they had a snake problem getting in the office. He told me he'd pay me $50 a hour, give me the gun and ammo and a bonus for each snake killed. This was a long time ago.... I made bank but lead the trigger if both barrels were loaded could send both of the rounds at the same time. It was a older gun like this one. I couldn't have been 90# wet and it knocked me on my butt. Boss man had a hell of a laugh and I only loaded one round at a time. 00 buck is the best lol.

I'm starting to feel like Scott's hatred of tables must stem from a deep childhood memory, like maybe he was never allowed to eat inside with the rest of his family, he was forced to eat outside on a stump. And he had to fend off local wildlife to finish his meal.

I found a nice 100+ year old L. C. Smith 10 ga coach gun to use for cowboy action matches. It has Damascus barrels, but a couple of gunsmiths proclaimed it safe for black powder loads. To be extra cautious, I only load it to 12 ga loadings. Still, this cannon makes a 12 ga look like a toy and the smoke and flame is very impressive. Other cowboy action guys have stated that they love to see this thing shoot!

I love the 10 ga video. I’m curious to see what a high-velocity waterfowl load would do compared to the buckshot and slugs. Also, I’d love to see what the 10 would do to a bucket of joint compound.

Hey man I also have a 10 gauge double. I've never tried both barrels but I used to watch my dad and his friends do it when I was little. It looked pretty hard to handle. I seen it black the entire side of my uncle's face lol. He was a big guy too. The rear trigger on mine fires both barrels

Subscribed!! Thank you for the 10gauge goodness, no one in New Zealand has a 10 gauge. The largest load delivery we have down here is 3 1/2 inch 12 gauge magnums I believe. Even finding a shotty to take that round is difficult.

I have an American Arms 32" SxS 10 gauge that looks almost identical to that. Oddly it's actually made in Spain. Bought it online with the intention of cutting it down into a coach gun but it's just too damn nice to cut. What a blast pulling both triggers though all I've found local for ammo is a bunch of bird loads.
