I haven’t been a subscriber for long but I’ve learned a little bit. I managed to get my 690-2700 MHz antenna going again after sitting for 6 months following the concept of Andrew. Your expertise is appreciated and we have phone reception inside without having to walk around the yard. Cheers mate.

General question on dual bi-quads... What I do know of electronics is that if you put two similar impedances in parallel, the result is 1/2 the initial. So two 50 ohm bi-quads would result in a 25 ohm antenna. I assume, then, that when we double up two antennas each must be closer to 100 ohms. Is that correct? Have I missed something?

Just finished building a double biquad , double bow-tie. I used solid copper plate( heavy) with plastic 5 mm standoffs and LMR 400 Coax SMA Male Cabling-used in Aviation, Mil spec , ect , made a brace for the coax line as well to prevent small sag, drilled 3 holes one for stripped Coax and two for standoffs, 1 mm copper wire for the bow ties and used 50/50 Solder which is very easy to work with and melts and coats instantly . I tested last night and best reception is 5.830 Ghz, to secure the connection at the copper plate hole for the coax in back I used JB Weld and coated the back, good to 5000 psi or so in strength. Very happy with the results. Going to make a 5.8Ghz biquad with RG316 Male SMA next.

This is a fantastic antenna, if you had to guess what would the range of 2 of these facing each other , so one at the end on one side of a runway and the other at the other end (just a clear example). In having 2 bi-quods, is this a stacked antenna and could you just keep adding the bi-quads to it? Could you stack them side by side as well as above and below?

excellent, does it make any diference in frequency fresponse / gain if not using this spongy di-electric 5mm spacer ?

Thank you very much I have a simple question What is the best antenna to send wifi signal for as far as possible And at the same time have a wide diameter to receive wifi signal from different directions without losing too much signal . I want to create an antenna that is average between diameter and range , that can send wifi to exact direction and at the same time coveres wide diameter of signals for receiving For example the dish antenna is the best antenna for Long range signal sending , but at the same time it's very directional that a single rotation of the antenna causes loosing of signal (you need to know the exact location of the the Access point to receive great signal) And the diagonal antenna is the best in covering a wide direction But at the same time it's good at directing WiFi signal towards long range.

Hi Andrew, Is there any noticeable difference in the performance of loop vs. square? it is known that it is easier to perform. How aobut Gain and S11?

Она сфазирована неверно. Направление тока в верхнем билупе противоположно направлению тока в нижнем.

Wouldn't the brazing rods be conductive to the positive single wire in the middle by contacting the ovals that's connected to the back reflector,, it will just ground out

im getting into this and i have a question ,im planing to set up a plate for my sunroof that has a diversity receiver on it that goes to my Googles and a 2.4ghz antenna going with a long SMA cable down to my radio ...i wonder what 2 antennas would work best for the fpv feed ? since i have like no size limit its on my car roof anyway

Material that use to put between reflector and driven element. Effect lot to antenna resonance frequency . I made one antenna and used peace of solid wood to space exactly element and reflector .wood is good insulator i think but Network analyzer said it resonate completely different frequency. And i removed the wood and problem solved.

It's called dielectric constant wood has a changing dielectric constant due to humidity

@@andrewmcneil thank you for the reply !! I have another question to ask you . I hope you will reply me . When i make an antenna for parabolic feed . For example a biquad . Better is biquad with a reflector or without reflector ? After watched your dual polarized biquad antenna i got an idea to make a LTE MIMO using that method. Antenna works good . But if i feed this to parabolic reflector better is with reflector or without reflector ?? Because with reflector it doesn’t make any difference. Thank you very much !!

I doubt that any biquad arrangement would be superior to two stacked panels.
