With the four wheelers, every one saying you shouldn't ride them on the road, while that's not what they're designed for, it's fine as long as you're not turning at high speed. The "hot air" is the heat coming off of the exhaust header, and won't burn you unless you come in direct contact with the pipe, but there's a heat gaurd, so you're fine, and the wobbling at high speed is conveniently called speed wobbles and is perfectly normal. golly the Azores are exquisite ....happy bday...you guys and i see so many more for you....thanks for sharing this one....SW Montana was stunning today to....mind I wasn't on the water today but in Mounains cloaked with ever passing cold shoowers, with wind westerlys and strong as is typical at our elevations i was at above 8000 feet most of the day for work...i live at about 5100 feet ina valley surround by peaks in all directions i love watching how you guys so adeptly coexist and co-opt the vagaries of wind to travel with such intent the expanses you do....well done truly feeling the energy of the planet, to venture where you seek, rare and beautiful travels....sail on

Elayna, tip for cooking corn on the cob. Boil it in a pot of water with sugar and milk added for ten minutes in the boiling water. Turn the heat down once it begins to boil but not so low that it stops boil. If you leave it on high it will boil over and make a big mess of your stove.

I was born on Terceira to American parents. My father was active duty Air Force stationed at Lajes and my mom and grandparents lived there as missionaries for about 10 years. I left when I was 18 months old so don’t really have any memories, only pictures. I haven’t yet been able to make it back, but one day I will. Riley my man, those 4 wheelers were not set up to ride on asphalt. Those particular tires are great on dirt/mud/snow but they are terrible on asphalt/cement. The rubber compound and tread depth/design, provide way to much traction on asphalt which will quickly tear up the transmission. Also that speed was way to fast on that road. These machines are designed to slide and skid on dirt roads. They can easily flip over on paved surfaces, they should have schooled you a bit better before renting you the machines. They aren't inherently dangerous, but you can get hurt/killed right directly, by doing the wrong thing at the wrong time in the wrong place. And driving them on that road in traffic was way bad. The transmission going out was God's way of saying lenny wasn't meant to be an orphan.

Yes Adam, and Riley, they are designed to not go over 20 -25 miles per hour and are illegal to ride on the highway in America. You were lucky, I had a friend loose an arm in an ATV accident a few years ago, similar situation.
