Double Click Mouse Button Fix (4K)

Main mouse switches went bad in my Razer Deathadder Elite mouse and so it's time to replace them before they make me crazy(ier). This method uses soldering. Yes, you can use electronic switch cleaner or take them apart in place and clean them, but that's a short term solution (trust me, I've done it).

Great Video. One could cheap-out and simply flip the right and left switches (less hours on the right switch).

I tried that a long time ago, and the fix was really short lived. I must have used my right mouse button a LOT more than I thought.

I bought a bag of 20 Omron micro switches for my Logitech mice. I have changed the switch in 2 of my 4 mice so far.

It's much easier to do when you are not trying to video it. Or so I hear!. ;)

nice guide, thanks alot! i was able to just punch one small hole with a needle where the screws are and then fit in a small screwdriver. so at least for me no need to cut anything out. there will be small bulges but they flat out pretty quick. again, thanks! :-)

(Razer) there's your problem.😂 BTW, I like to cut the switch into 3 parts with hot knife before de-soldering it, that way you can remove it, one pin at a time and thus reducing chances of damaging traces

@@SurajGrewal I spent a lot of money on a "gamer" mouse thinking that since I don't hammer it like a gamer, it would last forever. That was misplaced trust in the old saying, "price reflects quality". This one lasted 2 years and 364 days. I'm sure that's how long it will last again (and hopefully I'm still around then!!!)

@@tsbrownie Yes indeed. Electronics "fashion" brands exist now. The price-quality saying has gotten invalid. My gamer cousin too had a lot of problem with razer. so do apple users with apple. I hope you live to see the day, mouses are no longer needed.

@@SurajGrewal Lots of people have been saying we will have computers we can talk to. Well I am decades ahead of that! I have been talking to computers since 1974, however I can not repeat most of the things I have said to them. They never reacted, but it made me feel better. Maybe it's better if I die BEFORE computers do what I tell them!!!

pisses me off i was looking for my first gaming mouse and seen this mouse had great reviews i bought it for like 70$ and within 3 months the left click went from double clicking to not even working anymore... i bought the mouse new and registered it on the software and when i refreshed my pc i went to set the software back up and put in all the same info and it said i had to send proof of purchase? so now i got this pos over priced mouse that i cant run the software on and the left click is cooked after 2 months... have been using my 15 year old logitek m100 since the thing still works as it should.. sure miss my thumb buttons tho.....btw i sent them in the proof of purchase and was never replied to and mouse still doesnt have access to the software.

Had a lot of issues with Kraken 7.1 Chroma (old ones), with my razer naga 2014, bought a Deathadder Elite, it doubleclicks OR miss a click...I need to be a peripheral surgeon to get my razer gear to work properly? Not anymore... Huge fanboy of razer since 2014 but.. #NotBuyingRazerEverAgain Good video tho

Is there a method WITHOUT any soldering? I have zero skill with this and soldering looks difficult.

I can't think of any way where one could replace the switches without soldering (or even repair them in place). Soldering is just a step up from hot glue guns. I started soldering at age 6. The 2 dangers of soldering are 1) the hot stuff, 2) lead toxicity, but both are easily managed with safety glasses, etc. and common sense (treat solder as something dirty you don't spread around). I used to practice on old circuit boards, wires, etc. It's pretty cheap to get started. A Weller or other quality soldering iron is pretty cheap. Solder is also cheap. The other option is to ask a friend.

i have mamba elite and it double clicking, the same with razer blackwidow te chroma it's douuble clicking, the worst quuality mouse and keyyboard, never again with razer

I am disappointed too the lifespan per dollar was pretty poor. I'm still using the fixed one, but don't expect it to last much longer. The mouse wheel is now starting to skip badly.

The original set did not hold up as well as I would have liked. I'm not a heavy gamer so I figured this mouse would last forever, but it just exceeded the warranty by a little bit then started doing the multiple click thing.
