I was fortunate enough to see Grappelli, Stuff Smith and Joe Venuti in my youth. They were all great, but they had nothing on Elia. She is fantastic. I hope we will see her in New York at some point.

Por Dios! Como es posible de tocar tan maravillosamente bien al genio de Bach con un trio tan perfecto y una Èlia Bastida que se supera en cada grabación! Os escucho desde los primeros días de la Big Band hace ya muchos años. Es increíble como los niños y niñas de aquella época se han convertido en grandes músicos. Joseph Traver ya era "grande" cuando se juntó con el maestro Chamorro. Pero incluso ellos dos se superan cada día! Èlia Bastida es música, es jazz, es swing! Que grabación!

Django et Stéphane ont tant de fois joué ce morceau en public qu'il aurait été impossible de ne pas le faire figurer sur ce "Tribute to Stéphane Grappelli". Je ne sais si l'idée est venue de Stéphane ou de Django mais vu sa formation classique il semble que ça vienne de Stéphane. Et la magie opère une nouvelle fois: quel plaisir de les entendre et de les voir tous les trois sur ce thème vieux d'un siècle!

Put Èlia and a violin together, and you can't go wrong! It doesn't matter what genre the music is -- she's great. Wonderful solo by Josep, and great accompaniment by Joan, who keeps things moving. And the sound and filming by David and Ramon is fantastic, as always. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if this video gets a *lot* of views. It should!

I didn't know anyone who was a fan of "Jacques Loussier". But I loved them along with the many jazz musicians. Above all, they has made great achievements in discovering the germination of jazz in the world of Bach's music and drawing out its appeal. after a long time and met “Double Concerto” by “Èlia Bastidaさん”💖💖💖。 This performance brought back the joy of improvisation to J.S.Bach.💐💐💐 I'm going numb to the back of my head。。。

No solo por la forma tan magistral en que tocas (y la suma con Joan y Josep, que es fantástica), sino por la pasión, el dinamismo, la energía que insuflas y transmites, que hace que todo esté vivo y nos lleve a un universo en que no hay nada más que alegría y música. Tu forma de tocar es tan increíble y tan revulsiva como lo fue en su momento la de Grappelli, al que adoro, pero creo que has vuelto a superar. Enhorabuenísima!!

Just listened to a recording of Yehudi Menuhin And David Oistrakh play Bach's Double Concerto. Purists may scoff, but their version sounded pedantic and lifeless next to Èlia's brilliant and exciting interpretation.

VERDADERO. Élia Bastida y Josep Traver son dos genios de la música, unos todo terrenos capaces de maravillarnos en cualquier cosa que toquen. Incluido J.S. Bach. Lo que hace Élia con este concierto, doblándose a sí misma con el segundo violín (milagros de la tecnología) es de ensueño. Y el acompañamiento y los solos de Josep, de antología. Puro Bach. Puro Jazz. FALSO. La Música Clásica es aburrida. Enorme majadería, pero tristemente aceptada por hordas de indocumentados. Qué escuchen los Conciertos de Brandemburgo de Bach tocados por el Café Zimmermann. O la Pequeña Música Nocturna de Mozart por la Orquesta de Cámara Orpheus. O las 4 Estaciones de Vivaldi por la Europa Galante. O el Concierto para Piano de Ravel por Marta Argerich. O cualquiera de los archifamosos Conciertos de Año Nuevo de la Filarmonica de Viena … Y que luego sigan diciendo que es aburrida, si tienen narices. VERDADERO. Sólo hay dos tipos de música: la buena y la mala. Frase un millón de veces dicha y que no he conseguido averiguar de quién es en realidad. Pero una verdad como un templo. Si eres amante del Jazz lo lógico y normal es que también te guste la Música Clásica. Y la Bossa Nova. Y el Rock de los 70s-80s. Y las BSOs. Y los Boleros. Y el Country. Y el Tango. Y el Gospel. Y … (qué cada cual siga como quiera). No puedes centrarte solo en una cosa muy concreta y renunciar a disfrutar todo lo demás. Buena y mala música, insisto. FALSO. El talento lo es todo en la música. Pues no. Dijo Ramón y Cajal que los genios se hacen con un 10% de inspiración y un 90% de transpiración. O sea, trabajo, trabajo y trabajo. Sin talento puedes llegar a ser un profesional apañadito de la música, un currante. Pero sin trabajo (estudio, ensayos, más estudio, más ensayos, mucho estudio, muchos ensayos) no llegas a nada. A Élia Bastida y Josep Traver el talento se les cae de los bolsillos, pero ni me imagino las miles y miles de horas, años y años de duro trabajo, ensayos y preparación que han tenido que pasar para llegar a lo que son ahora: unos genios. El talento lo ve todo el mundo, el trabajo queda solo para ellos mismos. Por eso tienen tanto mérito.
