I love Phyllis' teaching style. Lots of folks make cooking videos but her videos are so different. I'm so glad she was able and willing to share her gift with us. Proverbs 31:10-31 10 A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds. 11 Her husband trusts her without reserve, and never has reason to regret it. 12 Never spiteful, she treats him generously all her life long. 13 She shops around for the best yarns and cottons, and enjoys knitting and sewing. 14 She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places and brings back exotic surprises. 15 She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast for her family and organizing her day. 16 She looks over a field and buys it, then, with money she's put aside, plants a garden. 17 First thing in the morning, she dresses for work, rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started. 18 She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day. 19 She's skilled in the crafts of home and hearth, diligent in homemaking. 20 She's quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor. 21 She doesn't worry about her family when it snows; their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear. 22 She makes her own clothing, and dresses in colorful linens and silks. 23 Her husband is greatly respected when he deliberates with the city fathers. 24 She designs gowns and sells them, brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops. 25 Her clothes are well-made and elegant, and she always faces tomorrow with a smile. 26 When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly. 27 She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive. 28 Her children respect and bless her; her husband joins in with words of praise: 29 "Many women have done wonderful things, but you've outclassed them all!" 30 Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades. The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God. 31 Give her everything she deserves! Festoon her life with praises!

Hi Phyllis. In my country (Panama, Latin America) we call that fried bread hojaldre (the "h" is silent). We eat it with almost anything, steak, eggs, sausages, cheese, ham, all by itself and a cup of coffee, even with sugar, it's delicious. We also use it as bread for sandwiches, a very simple recipe but great. I could eat it all the time.

I read that information about the Navajo, you are right it is interesting. I was a Registered Nurse for 35 years. I can tell you this. It is not important these days, with our good diets. The reason they put powdered milk into things they cook is to make sure there is lysine in the children's diet. If they did not get a complete protein, which comes from meat milk fish and eggs; they would suffer protein calorie malnutrition. The children's bellies would get distended and swollen. Their arms and legs would be very thin and weak. At some time the government was forced to send them powdered milk so the children would not die. It breaks my heart about the Indians. One day the Hopi and the Navajo will be famous and it will be sooner than we think.

I going to try the bread recipe but use it as a dessert because my niece loves what we call elephant ears. So so once they are fried up dip them in butter then you shake cinnamon and sugar on them, something that we always got at the fair. I'm also going to try your dish but tweak it just a bit before adding the cream of mushroom I'll add some taco seasoning, and when I get ready to serve I layer of meat mixture little bit of cheese some spice black beans a little bit more meat sauce a little bit more cheese then pop it in the oven until the cheese melt. I might use the black beans recipe that you made with your chicken Havana chicken.💕

You can weigh ingredients for steady recipes. older flour will absorb more weight. Once you weigh the ingredients you can figure out a ratio for incremently reducing or increasing the serving size.
