Double Din Radio install on 2003-2007 accord PAC RPK4-HD1101

I really wish they would make a version that has the Double DIN spot on top and the HVAC controls on the bottom - I think it looks better and it keeps your eyes higher up and more alert.

There are kits to install aftermarket HU above(on the dash) the stock system

Hey thanks for the video. I really wanted to see how it would look after installation. In your opinion, did you ever feel like the screen sat too low? I’m about to install a monitor from Kenwood along with a back-ip camera. Ideally it would be above the climate buttons but is the location a deal breaker or not a big problem?

Have you had issues with the auto climate control? I saw in another video where they said if you didn’t fit the sealing foam properly (the kit is supposed to come with it) the auto temp won’t read properly.

Do you have the top Honda OEM display in your car? I've just installed in mine (UK, 2005 Accord dual zone 2.4 TypeS) and the right display has garbled characters - left side is ok

K Chu the kit is pretty nice I think.. I'm in love for now. The head unit is everything I wanted nothing more. I was looking around a lot in the price range I got it under 350$ from Best Buy. It's all about your phone honestly. Just phone and a tuner. So if you don't have your phone your just listening to radio all day long. I'm currently using it on an iPhone with no issues. It's way louder than stock. I honestly was thinking I was going to replace my speakers because they sounded terrible. But after just installing that head unit the music already sounds so much better

Daniel Quintanilla Okay I have a 07 Sedan V6 so it doesnt have a crossover. I have upgraded all the speakers but the stock 6 disc radio sucks - too bassy.

K Chu when I got my car my speakers had all been upgraded but honestly they sounded worse than my brothers system which was completely stock and same car. Previous owner had messed with head unit to add aux cord I think he just messed it up. Luckily the new head unit sounds amazing!

I got the exact same thing I hook everything up the only thing is my ac does work but only the high n low fan on my ac If I put its on foot or head does not work is there a special code that u have to program?

Vaccum leaks cause this same issue. Where you cannot select where the air is coming out of the vents, floor, defrost etc. So you mightve not got something plugged in right. Or the operating system may have an error within the computer that's not allowing it to tell the door that directs the air to move. Let me know if you've figured out what the problem was and if you would recommend this or what would you recommend?

I was on the phone with crutchfield 7 times this past weekend to figure out why my front speakers wouldn't work, and I can almost bet that the factory 6-disk was an oversight to them, but you seem to be on to something here.... Give a tag to this video as (7th gen accord front speaker fix) so itd be easier to find this video for people with the same issue as you and me. Btw, did you happen to get an adapter for it or are you still using the factory crossover you ripped off the HU?

I ended up selling the car but the only way I was able to get it to work was leaving the factory crossover inline. Glad i could help!

@@assassin_asa When you installed yours, did just cut pieces of that insulation stuff and stuff it in the 4 small gaps or did you try to just use the entire thing? Also did you end up using that little black "crossover" unit to get your front speakers working? Was your factory radio the 6 disc changer or was it the Large nav screen? Thanks

Just install an aftermarket digital 200x4 jl door speaker amp. Instead of hooking up the purple,grey,white and green wires to the harness, run them into the aftermarket amp. You could even get the power ground and remote turn on from the same wiring harness. These accords are old, the technology back then sucked. Now they make Amps digital that are small enough you can locate them behind the dash. Just fyi. You could even do a 25x4 and its going to sound waaayyy better. Unless you have blown factory speakers. Which I would replace immediately upon replacing the head unit.

That's when if you want to do things right you run your own wiring to all the speakers and replace the speakers

Anthony Polonia just switch it to single climate mode it removes the auto climate control and you can set the temp and fan speed individually.

So this is the exact radio I was looking to install in my accord and the exact kit I was looking to use. How's the volume knob on this radio with the PAC kit? It looks easy enough to use but some people were complaining that it didn't stick out far enough especially with some dash kits that were overly curvy on the edges. I'm assuming you installed this yourself, did you need to buy anything else to make it work properly? I wasn't sure if I needed an antenna adapter or a steering wheel control module or any sort of vehicle specific wiring harness either.

I think the volume button works great. And this kit actually allows the steering wheel controls of volume track and source to still work which I thought was awesome. It comes with everything you need. You can do it yourself in about two hours. The only thing you need to do that is not included on instructions is when you get the oem radio out remove a black box held in place with 4 screws behind where the oem screen would be. I think it's a crossover. But without that's you won't get sounds out of your front speakers.

Which model do you have? It looks like you have a coupe with dual zone climate control but I wasn't sure what year and which trim. I think that black box might be an amp or crossover and I'm thinking only certain trims have that. I have a 2007 EX-L V6 sedan with dual zone climate but not the factory nav unit.

@@jeremyreynolds4 you are correct, the factory pre amp is not built into the head unit. Its attached to the back of the head unit for the front doors and in the rear quarter panels for the rear speakers.
