I love this technique! It’s fun & easy. & not as messy as pouring. I just “dipped” some small wood boxes for a teacher friend to use as her treasure box. Can’t wait to embellish with some cabochons I have dipped!! You were the first one I saw doing this technique & I have used it so many times. Even on stools!! Thank you 😊

It’s soooo pretty! Dips are so much fun! Someday, give this a try: instead of lifting the canvas like it’s on a hinge, try picking the canvas straight up by grasping opposite corners. You can anchor the Al Foil on each side with some of your paint bottles or other weighted objects so it’s stays on the table. You can draw rudimentary shapes like flowers & stars with the paints, the effect is really lovely. I do this with plastic wrap instead of foil, but I’m definitely trying it with crinkled foil 👍🏻

In the USA, back in the 50s and 60s and most of the 70s, we called it tinfoil. I think that’s because so many people had trouble saying aluminum lol then we started to call it aluminum foil or just foil. I like Al foil ;that’s easy to say. Thanks for sharing this technique. I’m going to try it right now. I’m very new to this and I’m just using 8 x 10 flat campus to practice. I’ve made several other kinds of dips and two or three of them came out pretty good the rest are meh.
