@@willpick9686 I am happy to see the franchise not dead like some others in the genre AKA Final Fight. I just wish it could have its big “Streets of Rage 4” moment. Instead we get this? Hopefully I am wrong and Revive ends up being great.

Im thankful the series is still alive, but I do agree, they do better, go darker go detailed.

Great video, dude! I totally agree that this is not looking good. This AI stuff is weird and the whole thing looks cheap as heck! Let's hope they polish this before release but I am not holding my breath.

Thank you! I love Beat'em ups and Double Dragon so it was a lot of fun to make. BTW I agree the AI stuff is just so bizarre, the fact that they decided to reveal the game this way is a shame. It really left a very poor first impressions. LIke you I hope the game turns out to be great and gets a lot more polish but I wouldnt count on it.

I think that before anyone is allowed to develop a Double Dragon game, they should be required to play Double Dragon Advance for the GBA and take some serious notes as that was the only team that understood the assignment. I love DD but I have never seen a series that was so inconsistent. I want revive to be good but I seriously doubt it will be. Because more often or not, it's as if the devs never actually played the games... they just read up on them or something. Or they just played the way overrated NES games which leads to games like double Dragon 4 which is one of the slowest, most boring brawlers I've ever played. I honestly don't think they will ever top Double Dragon Advance until someone realizes it's truly the pinnacle of the series and decide to make a direct sequel to it.

I agree if a dev is going to take a remake or a long awaited sequal to a franchise, it would be nice if they have played the best games in said franchise. Instead of building upon what made games in a series so great it feels like they just make whatever they feel like and slap a brand name on it.

Well, double dragon neon was a very average game, so, i would not use that game to mark "this looked good and this new thing looks bad".

@@pepomega to be fair I never said Neon looks good and Revive looks bad. I simply stated that when you graphically compare the games side by side does Revive really look like it’s launching 15 years after Neon? Even though Revive is supposed to be a fully 3d modern take on the franchise. Idk maybe they are just really bad screenshots? However that is what they have decided to market the game with and it’s all I have to go on. Hopefully future showings of the title give off a much better impression. After all I think most fans want the game to end up being great 😊

double dragon will never be done well by developers only fans know how to make double dragon games, this is pretty obvious at this point.

Idk I liked Double Dragon Gaiden, I think that was a fun take on the franchise. However you're correct we get more bad DD games than good ones.
