They are both beautiful. They have a kind of darkness and light theme going on. In the first one, I can see a couple of butterflies in it and the way the lacing is on the gold looks like leaves. The second one, I see a skull. They are amazing and you just inspired me to get back to trying to get a decent dutch pour!

I love the process of acrylic paint techniques. It is not as easy as it looks. And if you’re like me, you learn what works and what doesn’t with every pour. The colors are great. With me, I often fail to walk away when I need to.

Love, love, love it. I've tried blowing with a straw with the children and ended up with saliva on the painting and getting light headed to boot, so the hair dryer looks great and lots faster to me. I've also seen artists use canned air to get the details where they want them The first one is my faviorite

Beautiful work Sarah. This technique is fascinating for someone like me who loves art like yours but has no experience at all. What do you mix colours with to make them so fluidly??? Second I see you use a very thin air blower for details. What is this thin hose connected to, to generate air?? Is it available at art shops?? Please advise!

Thank you! I mix my paints with Floetrol and add water to get it thin. 2 parts Floetrol to 1 part paint. Then add water till it’s almost as thins as water. The tube is just a flexible plastic tubbing about the width of a regular straw. I was blowing into it

Just my humble opinion but I believe the secret to a good Dutch pour is restraint. Too much paint just leads to difficulties. Not that those who use more and more paint don’t look nice but I just prefer that minimalist look.

Paints need to be thin and your work space level...having it not level will result in paint moving and then a loss of composition occurs.with a Dutch style pour there really is not much paint on it at the end. I wish I could see you create it so I could see what’s happening
